We're ready to go at the Central Christian School once again! (she is interrupted by a loud voice offstage left) Gram! Gram! (getting closer) Wait 'til you hear! (KATE rushes in from stage left, breathless, with OLIVIA close behind, both carrying books) Gram, you'll never guess! Wait a second, slow down, Kate. Remember this is a library, not the school playground. Hi, Olivia. Hi, Mrs. McKee. Gram, listen, I'm trying to tell you about our new Social Studies project! (a bit smugly) In all probability, we'll win the award for the best idea…even if we do have to work with Zach and KJ. Yeah, ever since they got on the soccer team, that's all they think about. Well, you haven't told me what the project is yet. We're doing a history project and we get to design it ourselves. So, our team decided we would each trace our family trees. We're going to research this very carefully by interviewing relatives, and then transfer the information onto genealogical charts. What do you think, Gram? I think it's a wonderful idea! Whom do you plan to interview first? You, of course! You know more about the McKee family tree than anyone else. (entering, stage left) The McKee what? Hi, Sammie. McKee what? Family tree. What's that? (rolling her eyes) Little sisters are so dumb! I am not! Gram, what's a family tree? (The scene opens in the Central Christian School Library, where GRAM is sitting at a table, working on her laptop.)
