Angels We Have
Heard on High
arr. Cathy Moklebust.
Here is a refreshing new take on the classic
carol. Beginning slowly with singing bells, flowing
eighth notes and handchimes, the listener can
imagine the shepherds' awe and amazement
at the angels' beautiful song proclaiming the
Christ child's birth. They hurry across the plain to
find the child, depicted by malleted and thumb-
damped bells in a spirited, rhythmic section in
7/8 time. With an LV eighth-note accompaniment
under a chordal treble melody sprinkled with a
few sixteenth notes, the final verse is majestic
and full as the shepherds find the holy family and
worship their newborn king.

Christmastide Celebration
Kurt Meyer.
Six favorite carols are combined into one
wonderful setting! Some carols are featured while
others are interwoven or contrapuntally overlaid
throughout the work. The carols (
GLORIA; ADESTE
FIDELES; STILLE NACHT; MUELLER; REGENT
SQUARE; and MENDELSSOHN) are featured in both
bells and chimes (3-7 octaves) and are beautifully
supported with a variety of techniques including
LV, gyro, tower swing, thumb damp, mart, mart
lift, and mallet - both suspended and on the table.
A fun challenge for all groups to play well. The
optional flute is the icing on this celebratory cake!

Fantasy on Angels We
Have Heard on High
arr. Brian Childers.
The hymn tune GLORIA has probably been
arranged more times than we can count.
However, this fresh, elegant, and beautiful
setting will capture your heart. The familiar
tune, often presented in subtle ways, is offset
by countermelodies, gentle stopped sounds,
echoes, perfectly placed shakes, and marts. The
rising sixteenth notes tied to eights gives this
a gloriously happy feel throughout while being
quite expressive. This is a must-have for every
group's Christmas repertoire.

This magical, ethereal setting of a favorite

on musicality over technical tangles - and
the result is elegant, moving, and beautiful. A
simple rhythmic motif is introduced with chimes
and continues throughout as the arrangement
unfolds. A fresh take on an old standard.

Good Christian Friends,
Rejoice
arr. Lloyd Larson.
This fun arrangement of the classic Christmas
carol is set in 6/8 which gives it a lilting feel.
The contrasting middle section in minor gives it
intrigue before building to the bright final verse.

I Saw Three Ships
arr. Joel Raney.
This fun and boisterous arrangement includes
mallets and many other stopped techniques. The
lilting opening section gives way to a grandiose
presentation of the melody and then returns
to the sea-shanty feel of the beginning. Paired
with piano, this wil be a wonderful concert or
Christmas selection.

It Came Upon a
Midnight Clear
arr. Mitchell Eithun.
The traditional Westminster Chimes melody
is used as introduction and interludes for this
accessible carol arrangement. While there are
no eighth notes, ringers will still find the music
interesting, alternating between handbells and
handchimes (optional 3-4 octaves). The only
accidentals are located in the melody. This
edition is perfect for beginning ensembles ready
to try the next level.

your listeners riveted and are easy to learn,
making the work more accessible than its level
marking may indicate. Another winner for the
Christmas season!

Pat-a-Pan

of the optional C instrument (use a recorder if
you can!), triangle, and tambourine. A sure-fire
winner for your Christmas worship or concert.

People, Look East
arr. Sandra Eithun.
This arrangement of the familiar Advent hymn is
ideal for a beginning ensemble or when limited
rehearsal time is a factor. The melody is heard
in the treble layer and again in the battery bells,
giving an opportunity to teach balance between
melody and accompaniment. A simplified
meter and limited bell changes make the piece
accessible. A jaunty little tambourine part adds
excitement.
