Still, Still, Still—arr. Noah Reese. The beloved
Austrian carol is cleverly arranged to break up
the melody between the two voice parts to keep
the ranges small for changing and developing
voices. Some interesting harmonic shifts and
descant-like features for the tenors bring a
freshness and lyrical quality to this setting. A
supportive piano accompaniment and English
lyrics throughout bring even more accessibility.

Stille Nacht/Silent Night—arr. Greg Gilpin.
This gorgeous arrangement of the beloved
carol incorporates American Sign Language
to create a lovely moment in your holiday
concert. Filled with wonderful harmonies, the
piece begins in German, sung first by a soloist
or in unison and then by the choir. The next
verse is sung in English, followed by a verse
being hummed or sung on "oo". The final verse
is signed and the piece comes to its poignant
conclusion in silence. Truly unique!

Veni, Emmanuel!—Zachary Steele. This twist
on the medieval French melody is a great
way to introduce singers to compound meter,
syncopation, and dissonance while working
with a familiar melody. Alternating between the
Latin and English texts, it is a cappella but for a
simple djembe or drum accompaniment and the
two-part version is flexible enough to be sung by
any kind of two-part choir, either mixed, treble,
or tenor-bass, with a little bit of divisi.
