A definite winner! 11203008 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .60.00 The Crystal Fountain—Brian Balmages. Based on the hymn Guide Me, O Thou Great Redeemer, this heartfelt work begins delicately, relying on fragments of the hymn. Overlapping entrances establish a sense of timelessness as the music develops, ultimately reaching a powerful climax where the piece's original melody and the full hymn tune are presented simultaneously. As the music fades, the listener is left with a sense of peace and closure. Simply magical. 11399680 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .60.00 Cumberland Cross—Carl Strommen. You'll really get a nice sound with this one! Carl's original work explores the rich American folk style in two sections. The first has broad, moving harmonies under a Shenandoah- like melody, and the second a lively dance reminiscent of Copland. Cumberland Cross is not too difficult, yet very impressive! 2319515 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .70.00 Cumberland Cross—Carl Strommen. A true concert band classic that explores the rich American folk style in two sections. The first has broad, moving harmonies under a melody reminiscent of Shenandoah, and the second a lively dance evoking Copland. This flex version is designed with maximum adaptability for use by any mix of instruments - wind, strings, and percussion, including like or mixed ensembles with as few as five players. With purchase, permission is granted to photocopy the parts as needed for your ensemble. String parts call for more advanced fingering patterns, shifting, and ranges. All string parts have been carefully edited with extra fingerings and appropriate bowings. (3:30) 11385690 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .75.00 Danse Carnivale—Randall D. Standridge. Standridge. The final movement of "The Darklands Symphony"wraps the work up in a very gripping way, musically depicting a daring escape from the castle DarkHeart. Its dark, brooding nature is portrayed by the driving rhythms, dissonances and trills. The plainchant Dies Irae is used prominently as thematic material that ties the entire symphony together. DarkHeart can very successfully be performed as a standalone work. Menacing! 10617669 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .65.00 Darklands Legends—Randall D. Standridge. This musical setting paints a portrait of three characters that live in an imaginary world. The first movement represents Prince Loon, the many-faced prince whose changing features and moods are heard in the varied and contrasting music. The solemn music of movement 2 describes the grim ruins of an old church that guards a deep, dark secret. A frantic masquerade of the evil queen concludes the work, growing faster and faster as it leads to a fierce and thrilling finish. 10791418 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .85.00 Dear Heart—Ayatey Shabazz. Moving and introspective, this piece captures the wisdom and perspective of an older self speaking to a younger one. A musical depiction of taming and riding a dragon in ancient times, this contemporary composition works on performers' ability to recognize accidentals, tell a musical story, and develop new performance techniques. A great contrast to traditional performance selections, use this piece to work on the challenges of tempo changes, accidentals, and expression while also having fun! 11516627 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .65.00 Dragonstone—Gavin Lendt. Adventure awaits in this bold original work! Inspired by a love of video game music, this piece uses bombastic percussion, driving motivic rhythms, and colorful orchestration to great effect in a work that is carefully scored to be accessible to developing players while still providing worthy musical moments for more advanced ensembles as well. An excellent addition to your next concert or festival performance! 11515717 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .70.00 Drums of the Saamis—Samuel R. Hazo. This powerful work closes as it began: a restatement of themes representing the musical and historical foundation of the region of Alberta, Canada. 10460893 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .75.00 Earthdance—Michael Sweeney. In celebration of mankind's connection to our planet, this extraordinary work for band uses an intriguing array of composition devices and captivating melodies.
