Gospel John—Jeff Steinberg/arr. Andy
Clark. Check out this incredible arrangement
of Maynard Ferguson's gospel favorite...it's
hot as ever, but now any high school with
a decent trumpet player can play it! Andy
Clark's arrangement closely follows Maynard's
recorded version, except for a much more
playable introduction, new backgrounds for the
solos and some rewriting in the trumpet parts
(1st tpt. still goes to an "E"). This one is going
to be played for a long, long time!
2348142 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .55.00
Gottaluvit—Steve Wiest/arr. Blair Bielawski.
From the album Red by horn band Vinyl
Hampdin, this funk/rock tune is full of energy.

Grandview Groove—Doug Beach. This
incredible 1/2 time shuffle funk has it all: a
bassline that doesn't quit, an infectious groove,
hip figures and melodic lines, and an incredibly
funky breakdown with the power of the bassline
doubling the melody. An excellent opportunity for
your guitar player to flex their soloing muscles.
11503721 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .55.00
Here to Stay—Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays/arr.
Bob Curnow. Set in an easy-going rock feel,
this Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays composition
is sure to be a band and audience favorite.
Based on the original recording from the Pat
Metheny Group album We Live Here, Here
to Stay is another remarkable arrangement
from Bob Curnow that includes solo space
for trumpet, sweeping lyrical ensemble
passages, and contrasting interludes that
build to a climatic ending. If your band loves
playing Metheny and Mays rock charts, then
this is a must-have!
10759930 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .60.00
Higher Ground—Stevie Wonder/arr. Mike
Tomaro. From Stevie Wonder's acclaimed 1973
album Innervisions, this infectious funk tune has
been covered by a variety of artists over the
years and found its way into several movies.
With a distinctive rock shuffle groove and
memorable riffs, Mike Tomaro has transformed
this into a sizzling version for jazz ensemble.

little too challenging, check this out! Composed
and arranged by Gordon Goodwin specifically
for middle or high school level, this funky chart is
totally hot! The lead trumpet range is to written
G on top of the staff, there are suggested or
improvised solos for alto, tenor, bari, trumpet
and trombone along with backgrounds on cue.
This chart is very playable by a good middle

expanded instrumentation.
10093187 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .53.00
Honk—Jeff Jarvis. Ever since the widespread
popularity of the Jeff Jarvis funk original
Critical Mass, requests for a sequel have
been pouring in. At last, Jeff has composed
and arranged Honk, with all the characteristics
that made its predecessor such a hit with jazz
ensembles, only at a slightly more accessible
level. Like Critical Mass, Honk begins with a
cool sax section introduction, clearly placing
your baritone saxophonist in the limelight,
but without excessive technical demands.
Everyone has interesting and challenging parts
to play throughout and the modulation near the
end gives it an extra, added lift. The solos are
open and the backgrounds can be varied by
instrumentation. This one is hot from beginning
to end! Very highly recommended!
2702672 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .55.00
Hurricane Season—Troy Andrews/arr. John
Wasson. From the Trombone Shorty CD
Backatown, this tune features the powerful
underlying pulse of a New Orleans second
line feel along with elements of contemporary
rock. There's written or improvised solo space
for trumpet. In this exciting chart, the ensemble
alternately screams with the full band riffs,
then settles into a simmering rhythmic groove.
Also included are written bass lines and piano
voicings. A real treat to perform and hear!
10490297 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .55.00
I Love Lucy—arr. Paul Baker. Check out this
hip-hop setting by Paul Baker on the famous TV
theme. Unique, but very appealing, it's loaded
with wonderful writing, great development,
written or improvised solos for trumpet, tenor
sax, and drums, a hip sax soli, and the lead
trumpet range is only to written G on top of the
staff. This outstanding chart is also playable
with optional expanded instrumentations. This
arranger does this style extremely well and this
one is no exception. Highly recommended!
10593761 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .48.00
Intro to Art—Bret Zvacek. This hip and
swinging chart is a tribute to the legendary
hard-bop drummer Art Blakey, who led one
of the most important groups in jazz history
from 1955-1990: Art Blakey and the Jazz
Messengers. This chart is a perfect way to
introduce young players to this group and their
style of music.
11503722 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .55.00
Maiden Voyage—Herbie Hancock/arr. Erik
Morales. Here is the beautiful Herbie Hancock
tune in a stellar arrangement by Erik Morales.
Creative and sophisticated but not technically
difficult. The lead trumpet range is only to
written F-sharp top line. There are written solo
spaces for tenor sax and piano, wonderful
voicings and moving lines. This is a joyous
chart from top to bottom. Optional parts are

rest! Highly recommended!
10049710 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .52.00
Make Me Smile—James Pankow/arr. John
Wasson. One of the first tunes to put the
group Chicago on the map was this early
rocker from 1970. John Wasson stays true
to the original in this outstanding version for
jazz ensemble that features solos for alto
sax, guitar, and all the signature horn licks.
Suggested solos are included along with
chord/scale sheets in all keys.
10297505 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .55.00
Mamacita—Joe Henderson/arr. Alan Baylock.
A groovy straight-eighth feel on this jazz
standard with amazing parts for all and an intro
that is nothing but fire. The tempo is around
154 bpm, and the lead trumpet range is to

Mister Magic (Mr. Magic)—arr. Roger
Holmes. Skillfully blending jazz with R&B,
saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr. created
a fusion classic with his 1975 recording of this
tune. This chart beautifully adapts the soulful
lines and hypnotic groove for jazz ensemble in
this nicely scored arrangement.
10522908 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .50.00
The Moment of Truth—Roger Schmidli. The
alto soloist faces their "moment of truth" in this
uplifting and funky feature that provides the
soloist a chance to really show off their flair and
energy. Starting with a fun yet relaxed opening,
it isn't long before the chart leads into a punchy
bridge section featuring the whole band. There
is a brief respite before the soloist takes an
extended improvised solo and we begin to hear
the ensemble develop. The band continues
to build with the soloist and finally tears into a
simple but powerful band shout section that
lets the drummer really let loose! The chart
concludes as the soloist finally returns to the
original melody before ending their own moment
of truth with a musical sigh of relief in the final
bars! Great trombone writing. Get this chart!
11347395 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . .50.00

Having written this for her son in 1998,
composer Michele Fernandez brings us this
highly emotional and rewarding work for jazz
ensemble. The nostalgic opening solo section
(which is optional) leads to a sizzling salsa
groove that gradually intensifies throughout. The
distinctive melody is complemented by lushly
scored countermelodies, and all rhythm section
parts are carefully notated for authenticity.

Pick Up the Pieces—arr. Victor Lopez. It's
funk/rock... you know it, you love it! The tune
is infectious, the arrangement is right on target
with no individual solos but plenty of section
and ensemble work. The sax soli is crazy
hot and the lead trumpet range is to written
