Inspired by a trip to Rome and based on Italian folk songs, Tchaikovsky composed his Capriccio Italien in 1880. This fantasy utilizes the capriccio's themes to capture the essence of Tchaikovsky's music for concert band. Although technically reduced for medium to medium-easy ensembles, it still retains all the fire and energy of the masterwork. This is a wonderful selection not only to introduce a classical composer but also to work on phrasing, balance, and dynamic contrasts. It will appeal to performers and audiences alike! 11516633 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . .95.00 Fantasy on Yankee Doodle—arr. Mark Williams. This is a refreshing and exciting work! Yankee Doodle seems like such a simple melody, but it's amazing how well Mark Williams develops it using a set of variations.
