Containing open intervals reminiscent of
composers like Copland that have become

Students will love this easy piece - it portrays
insidious spiders creeping and crawling up
their arms, represented by eighth notes.
Each section gets to play the exciting melody
and develop their skills in the key of E minor,
including low C naturals. Spiders crawl up the
arm and reach the neck by way of an artful
crescendo (screaming is permitted at the
climax!) This is a great piece for reinforcing
counting and playing eighth notes evenly.
