Steps to Harmony (A Systematic Approach
to Sight-Singing)—Nicholas Palmer. This
series was designed to be useful in all teaching
situations, from middle school on up. The
range is limited to one octave - C to C - so
that everyone sings in a comfortable range
throughout. Beginning with stepwise, diatonic
quarter notes, it's written polyphonically, so
that every part is melodious and develops
independence. Each exercise is written so that
it can be performed in an unison, 2-part, or
3-part format. Fully reproducible and available
as a digital download, this reusable resource
works year after year.

The Weekly Sight-Singer—Anna Hamre.
The Weekly Sight-Singer is an abbreviated
and accelerated method for teaching sight-
singing specifically designed for school,
church or community choirs that only meet
once a week. Using standard tunes that many
singers already know, this method develops a
connection between familiar melodies and the
solfege system. The short, flexible units include
extra material that singers can practice at home
to reinforce the acquired skills and self-assess.
Fully reproducible and available as a digital
download, this material will be useful for your
choirs year after year in a variety of formats.

The 1-3-5 Essential Choral Exercises
(The Essentials of the Choral Warm-Up:
Science, Method, and Pedagogy)—John
Frederick Hudson & James Jordan. The
Choral Warm-Up, shared the pedagogical
method for building healthy choral sound with
teachers around the world. This book shares
the exercises that have been at the core of
vocal pedagogy for the choirs at Westminster
Choir College: the Chapel Choir; the Schola
Cantorum; Westminster Williamson Voices;
the Symphonic Choir; and Westminster Choir
as well as his professional ensemble, The
Same Stream. The revolutionary sequence
of the efficient exercises in this book, while
they appear simple, fold voice science and
music learning theory into the choral warm-up
by refocusing choral ensemble warm-up
pedagogy on tongue position and the inner
architecture of vowels. Using only the triadic
1-3-5 provides a consistent pedagogy for vocal
health for every ensemble, creating beautiful
choral blend, accurate intonation, and a
humanly centered sound for choirs at all levels.
