Hustle and Bustle—Caleb J. Onstead.
This well-crafted delightful medley depicts the
busy-ness of the season, using the melodies
Danse Russe (Trepak); God Rest Ye Merry,
Gentlemen; and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
Techniques include Ring (of course), mart, mart-
lift, mallet, TD, Pl, and shake. Caleb describes
this work as "a holiday mash up in rondo form!"
He goes on to write: Trepak from the Nutcracker
is Section A with God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
as the first episode in the B section, and then a
rhythmically fresh and grand treatment of Hark
the Herald Angels Sing for its C section. That C
section is my favorite part of the arrangement. I
just kinda let it rip with cascading bells and the
full instrument playing from G1 - E8." And there
you have it! An amazingly fresh, delightful, and
creative work for your holiday repertoire!
