Children's Choir
Pie Jesu—Mary Lynn Lightfoot. The
traditional Latin text is set to a haunting
melody in this reverent, deeply moving
choral work. Composed in memory of
the children who perished in the 1995
Oklahoma City bombing, it is easily
singable by young choirs as well as more
experienced school or church choirs. An
excellent pronunciation guide/translation
is included. At the close of the work, a
whispered, murmured chant on "dona
eis requiem" echoes behind the vocal
parts, creating a spine-chilling effect.
Magnificent!
