7 Americana Tunes for 12 Bells —
arr. Brian Childers. An excellent reproducible
collection for choirs to ring on the go at patriotic
or Americana-themed events. All arrangements
are in F major (F5 to C7) with no bell changes
required. They are scored on two pages, so there
are no mid-song page turns. They may be played
as a set by finishing each piece with a fermata,
allowing time for ringers to turn the page. The
approximate performance time for the entire set
is 15 minutes.

delightful original music has an engaging melody
and features a variety of bell techniques perfect
for ringers who are expanding their ringing

technique followed by the same section rung is
repeated throughout. Techniques include table
mallets, echo, shakes, and marts. There are no
accidentals, and the tempo is moderate. This
is a perfect piece for ringers to have fun with

Aurora —Benjamin A. Tucker. This skillfully
crafted original begins serenely before moving
into an upbeat malleted bass line that serves
as the foundation for the piece. The melody is
first heard alone, then with a treble ostinato. A
section using handchimes (3 octaves) creates
contrast before returning to the opening material
that builds to an exciting conclusion. For worship,
concert, or festival, this piece will be enjoyable to
play and hear.

Dauntless Celebration —Ron Mallory.
Energetic chords and cascading arpeggios convey
a lively and enduring sense of joyfulness in this
original concert piece. Written in 5/4, a malleted

with handchimes in the battery adding to the energy.
A slower middle section in 3/2 uses handchimes
to provide contrast. Optional percussion
accentuates the celebratory nature throughout.

A New Day —Caleb J. Onstead.
Reflecting the course of a 24-hour day, this
original tone poem begins with Sunrise as the
sun quietly peeks over the horizon, displaying its
glory. Serene Morning gains energy as it moves
on to Afternoon. Of course, we all feel a bit of an
energy slump in the afternoon and look forward
to a calm Evening and Nighttime rest. The
opening music then returns, brining with it A New
Day... Dynamics are critical throughout and really
bring this unique and creative work to life.

techniques, handchimes, and varying tempi to
provide excitement. Ideal for massed ringing or

Song of the Storm —Christopher Reed.
This original work evokes the energy and thrill
of a thunderstorm! Beginning with scattered
raindrops (thumb damp notes on the high
bells), rolling thunder, and lightning, the piece
moves into the main theme featuring an
engaging melody present throughout in many
creative ways. Mostly rung, the addition of
various stopped sounds makes this tone poem
thoroughly engaging. Many expressive variations
add to the excitement as it moves to the dynamic
ending. This amazing work will be sure to engage
all who ring or hear it!

Soul Search (Poor Wayfaring
Stranger)—arr. Fred Gramann. This unique
and creative setting of the American folk hymn
Poor Wayfaring Stranger begins with only a hint
of the tune in quarter notes while using the swing
technique on sustained notes as the foundation
for a gradual increase in energy. The piece
becomes more compelling as dynamics and
rhythmic intensity increase, culminating in three
against two rhythms depicted on three staves.
The main theme is not heard until midway through
and is joined by a handchime countermelody that
echoes and then inverts the bell melody. A return
to the opening material brings the piece to an
exciting and dynamic ending.

Vigoureux! —Barbara Scheffter. Immediately
engaging, this original work will uplift everyone's
spirits! The melody is wonderful and appears
throughout in various voicings and styles. Use
of malleted bass provides forward motion, but
there are many sections where the bass rings
and supports the interesting motifs happening
elsewhere. Varying techniques, dynamics, and
transitions from major to minor and back with
well-crafted key changes add to the joy of this
work. Lively and filled with happiness, this piece
will become an audience and ringer favorite!

Wellerman 2 —arr. Kath Wissinger.
This vibrant concert piece for 12 bells (3-8
ringers) will really wow your audience. This New
Zealand maritime folk ballad was made famous
by a TikTok video that sparked the sea shanty
craze. The bells introduce the first verse and
chorus alone, then the optional piano and hand
drum can join in. For even more fun and energy,
invite the audience to join in the choruses! The
optional piano accompaniment is intermediate
level but offers some easier options. The entire
bell and piano folio is reproducible by the original
purchaser for their own ringers. This arrangement
is also compatible with the previously published
3-5 octave version, Pepper #11361566.
