Written in 1905, this exceptional suite, based on English folk songs, is every bit as important and masterful as Holst's First Suite in E Flat. Together, these two works provide critically important cornerstones for any good band library. 152108 Band Set & Score. . . . .115.00 Soaring with the Eagles—Matt Bandman. Fly on an aerial journey and see through the eyes of an eagle. Each of the three contrasting sections has its own main theme: the Eagle theme; the Unseen Beauty theme; and finally, the Soaring theme. 11580715 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Songs from Down Under—arr. David Bobrowitz. Five Australian folk songs make up this melodic and energetic arrangement: Queensland Rover; Ryebuck Shearer; Botany Bay; Eugowra Rocks and Lime Juice Tub. They are filled with the spirit of Australia, highly original, and often clever and humorous. This is an especially versatile and spirited arrangement. 11624071 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 String of Dolphins—Yukiko Nishimura. Is there anything more exciting than being at the ocean and seeing a pod of dolphins playing offshore? This tuneful and emotionally inspiring piece uses the sounds of pure joy to paint this picture. Covering a wide range of 6/8 rhythms, this piece is a fun and rewarding musical and technical challenge. 11615070 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Symphonic Stories—Chris M. Bernotas. Music often tells a story; in this piece, each melodic line represents this idea. As the melodic lines weave together, it is the telling of a story that includes feelings of reflection, thought, and, of course, happiness and joy. Each musical story is personal. as music impacts us all differently. The work starts with a reflective section filled with emotion and solo opportunities; it then weaves seamlessly into a 12/8 section filled with joy and an infectious melodic line. Every section of the band has important and engaging parts that are appropriately challenging. (5:10) 11616384 Band Set & Score. . . . . .85.00 Tarantella—Carol Brittin Chambers. Lively and bouncy, this original work is written primarily in 6/8. The parts are written with great attention to the idiosyncrasies of the individual instruments, which not only aids considerably with the technical demands but also makes for a wonderful overall sound. The cleverly inserted heavy swinging quote of The Itsy Bitsy Spider is one for the books! 11502001 Band Set & Score. . . . .105.00 To the Stars—Kyle Wernke. A love letter to the music of Star Trek. There are obvious nods to moments in Jerry Goldsmith's "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" and James Horner's "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan," but there's plenty of original material as well. too. Transport your audience far beyond our pale blue dot and into the cosmos, if only for five and a half minutes! 11616897 Band Set & Score. . . . .250.00 The Trace—Robert Sheldon. The glorious melodies of The Trace, by Robert Sheldon, draw inspiration from the beautiful Natchez Trace Parkway, which ends at the Mississippi River. Bursts of harmonic colors keep the listener on a spirited ride that includes delightful shifts in orchestration and rhythm throughout. So much music to take in! (5:30) 11616411 Band Set & Score. . . . .100.00 Urban Dances—Erik Morales. Rhythm is the key element of this vibrant and contemporary piece which incorporates many of the rhythms found in today's popular music. The melodic and thematic elements, while important, play a supportive and secondary role. In many instances the thematic material floats over the rhythmic pulse creating a double time feel. It's lively and persistent throughout with very active and involved percussion. 2480723 Band Set & Score. . . . . .95.00 Variations on a Korean Folk Song— John Barnes Chance. A very deservedly popular composition consisting of five contrasting variations on a lyrical Korean folk song. Stated first in unison by the woodwinds, the material is brilliantly explored and developed. The percussion section is used extensively, both rhythmically and melodically. 153544 Band Set & Score. . . . .125.00 Variations on Scarborough Fair— arr. Scott Ulrich. Featuring plenty of solo moments, agile winds, and lots of percussion, students and audiences are guaranteed to enjoy this fiery and bombastic take on a classic tune! 11623144 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Vertrical Terrain—Rossano Galante. Wonderfully cinematic, this opens with a bold and strong statement before exploding into a fast-paced, tension-filled adventure that will stretch the range of your concert band. Wonderful scoring keeps all sections engaged with great parts throughout. An essential addition to your library! 11617923 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Volo Volare—Noah Hudson-Camack. "Volo", (the v is pronounced with a "w" sound in classical Latin) is a homonym for two different verbs in Latin: volo, velle meaning to want and volo, volare meaning to fly. This means the title can be translated in two ways, "I want to fly" and "I fly, to fly". Both statements are autobiographical of this piece and my mindset at the time of writing it. I had just graduated high school when I began this piece in 2020 with any future career in music being a great unknown. The four note main motive came to me on one of many walks taken to shake off pandemic induced cabin fever, and I soon got to work sketching a larger piece. I looked to capture the excitement I had for creation, the aspirations of a future in writing music tempered by trepidation. The slow theme heard at the beginning represented hope and longing for artistic success, that four- note motive the joy and act of creation, and the chaotic chromatic theme as the creeping in of doubt. The final product was a sonic storyboard of sorts, one could imagine a character cartoonishly oscillating between careful planning, frenzied invention, and destructive failure. No matter an audience interpretation, I hope that the uninhibited joy and excitement of the piece is apparent. "I want to fly", I create because I dream of a better me, a better artist. "I fly, to fly", I create because I love creating. 11605306 Band Set & Score. . . . .150.00 Voyage of Magellan—Kelly Bennette. Take to the seas with this ode to the golden age of exploration! With its blend of modal harmony, chorale-stye writing, and driving, syncopated percussion, this dangerous voyage is one that you don't want to miss! 11623135 Band Set & Score. . . . .105.00 Whispering of Fields Unsown—Andrew Boysen Jr.. Capturing the poignant essence of Wilfred Owen's powerful poetry from World War I, especially the evocative text of Futility. Commissioned by a consortium of schools from the Western and Northwestern divisions of CBDNA, this piece gracefully balances the darker undertones of war with a profound sense of gentleness and beauty. 11615373 Band Set & Score. . . . .100.00 The Wild One! (Circus March)—Brian Balmages. A blistering circus march designed to showcase your entire ensemble. This adrenaline-packed work will bring your audience to its feet regardless of where you program it in your concert. Cleverly combining the traditional march form with contemporary elements, this barnburner is sure to turn heads and be a ton of fun for performers and audiences alike. There are plenty of opportunities for percussionists, including several optional parts for directors with larger sections. (2:40) 11511689 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Winter Story—Jon Montgomery. Winter Story for Concert Band is an exciting journey through Spain during a cold Winter evening. Your band will enjoy 3/4 rhythmic melodies that keep everyone involved from beginning to end. The middle section is full of emotion that includes various woodwind soloists that build into a driving ending that is sure to excite your audience. 11600897 Band Set & Score. . . . . .50.00 The Witch and The Saint—Steven Reineke. A major contribution that's sure to become a part of standard repertoire. This ten-minute tone poem in one movement comprises five distinct sections that tell the legend of twin sisters born in Germany in 1588. Starting with a Gregorian chant motif, all manner of musical sorcery is used to represent the turbulent lives of these vastly misunderstood women. Steven Reineke brings us yet another fascinating work of lasting popularity. 2481386 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 With You—Brian Balmages. Based on the beautiful hymn God Be With You Till We Meet Again, this powerful work uses increasingly complex harmonies to achieve achingly beautiful resolutions while simulating the sound of a massive organ. A stunning work that will leave your audience breathless. (7:30) 11616349 Band Set & Score. . . . .100.00 Concert & Contest | Medium-Advanced YEARS OF MUSIC S I N C E 1 8 7 6
