Blues & Swing | Medium-Easy
Autumn Leaves—Joseph Kosma/
arr. Peter Blair. This is a great old tune!
Except...there's nothing "old" sounding
about it. It's a medium swing version of
a marvelous, often-played standard that
opens with an alto and trumpet duet and
is filled with tight ensemble punches. The
saxes are featured on a chorus and there is
a written or ad lib solo for piano.

Back Online—Gregory Yasinitsky. Don't
miss this swinging, shuffle blues chart for
developing groups that cooks right off the
top! Set at about 132 bpm, it features a full
and hot saxophone section soli, a stop-time
section leading into the solo, a written or
improvised solo for trumpet, and a section
that comes way down after the solos that
feature the brass and then the full ensemble.
It then opens up and really begins to swing!
Additionally, it can be played with optional
reduced or expanded instrumentations.
