62 2025-26 Editors' Choice New Basic Library Available via ePrint Downloadable All Prices in U.S. Dollars & Subject To Publisher Revision Concert & Contest | Advanced / Warm-Ups | All Levels Red (from "Autumn Triptych")—Eric Nathan. Red, from Autumn Triptych, Eric Nathan (2008) for wind ensemble Instrumentation: Piccolo 1-2, flute 1-2, oboe 1-2, bassoon 1-2, clarinet 1-3, bass clarinet, alto saxophone 1-2, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet 1-3, horn 1-4, tenor trombone 1-2, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, timpani, percussion 1-4, piano "Autumn Triptych" was commissioned by the twelve member schools of the Atlantic Coast Conference Band Directors Association. It is inspired by three paintings, each related to autumn: Jackson Pollock's "Autumn Rhythm" (1950), John Atkinson Grimshaw's "Evening Glow" (c.1884), and Georgia O'Keeffe's "The Red Maple at Lake George" (1926). My piece does not seek to represent the paintings, but instead uses the paintings as a springboard for inspiration and musical form. It is my sincere hope that viewing the paintings will lend deeper insight into the meaning of the music and the music in some way may allow the viewer to see the art from a new perspective. The three movements may either be performed individually or as a set (and may also be grouped in pairs). III. "Red" is inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe's painting "The Red Maple at Lake George" (1926). My work is inspired by O'Keeffe's intensely vibrant and fiery depiction of a red maple leaf. The music references different associations with the color red, from the fiery and sassy to the robust and vibrantly radiant. 11624606 Band Set & Score. . . . .250.00 Sesenta—Quincy Hilliard. Celebrating 60 years of leadership of a municipal band, this piece opens with an exciting and energetic theme. The tempo stays brisk throughout, with dynamic shifts and rhythmic patterns reflecting both the celebratory nature of the anniversary and the progression of time. Solos from soprano saxophone, flute, and euphonium add color to the piece, while the final fanfare-like coda provides a majestic conclusion. 11622817 Band Set & Score. . . . .110.00 Souvenir de Porto Rico—Louis Moreau Gottschalk/arr. Michael Brignolo. Gottschalk didn't live long enough to leave a large catalogue, but the works he brought to the public were quite popular in their day. This is one of his more well-known works, skillfully rendered for band by Michael Brignolo. It brings the vivid colors and sounds of the Caribbean to life. 11624536 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 Spinning Yarns—Ryan Lindveit. Spinning Yarns, Ryan Lindveit (2015) 10'30" for wind ensemble Instrumentation: Piccolo, flute 1-2, oboe 1-2, bassoon 1-2, Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet 1-3, bass clarinet, alto saxophone 1-2, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet 1-3, horn 1-2, trombone 1-3, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, timpani, percussion 1-4, piano, contrabass Grade 5-6 I am fascinated by multi-layered storytelling, and Spinning Yarns is a result of that fascination. Margaret Atwood's novel The Blind Assassin was a particularly rich source of inspiration. In this novel, each chapter is part of a different sub-novel. A crime novel is right next to a memoir which is right next to a science fiction story which is right next to a romance novel. The interaction between each of these layers creates a large and hugely dramatic narrative. Spinning Yarns is a collection of diverse narrative threads stitched together into a dramatic musical tapestry. Like an Atwoodian multi-layered novel, the music oscillates between dreamlike uncertainty, chaotic heroism, sarcastic dancing, pensive sleepwalking, airy lyricism, and climactic hubris. As the drama unfolds, these disparate elements emerge, re-emerge, and inform and interact with each other. 11625879 Band Set & Score. . . . .300.00 That Thing—Robert Alexander. Some things can't be spoken. Some things linger in the back of your mind, haunting and restless. This bold and unconventional Grade 5 band work thrives on tension, texture, and raw emotion, pulling players and audiences alike into a sound world that's unsettling, mysterious, and electrifying. An unforgettable musical experience for audience and band alike. 11622765 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Third Coast Jubilee—Jordan R. Tucker. Evoke the spirit of festivals along the Gulf Coast with this vibrant and celebratory piece. With a lively ABA form, the music captures the excitement of a grand celebration, from the anticipation of the event to a more intimate middle section, then culminating in a fiery, festive conclusion. The dynamic range and rhythmic complexity make this an excellent showcase for concert band. 11622816 Band Set & Score. . . . .125.00 We Are Made of Star Stuff—Brooke Pierson. This work for advanced wind ensemble, based on a famous quote by Carl Sagan "we are made of star stuff" is a reflection on humanity and our place within; both showcasing stretched out melodies and chord structures as well as faster sparkling undercurrent. 11620994 Band Set & Score. . . . .225.00 When Hope Falls Silent—Aaron D. McMichael. A deeply emotional piece inspired by the composer's personal experience of loss. Written at a slow, somber pace, the music reflects the quiet sorrow of a life cut short. The final section, marked by the timpani's heartbeat-like rhythms, gradually fades into silence, symbolizing a peaceful resolutionwith the inevitable passage of time. 11622820 Band Set & Score. . . . . .95.00 Warm-Ups All Levels Chorale Warm Ups for Young Bands— arr.
