The music for the famous duet dance between the Prince and the Sugar-Plum Fairy is one of the most expressive and dramatic movements from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker," here faithfully adapted for handbells and optional handchimes (3-4 octaves.) Advanced ensembles and intermediate groups looking for a worthwhile challenge will find this a highlight of any concert performance. 11623770 3-7 Octave Handbells . . .L5 5.25 Prestidigitation Kurt Meyer. This imaginative original is a sonic tribute to the art of magic and will transport both ringers and listeners to a world of wonder and enchantment. Riveting rhythms and mesmerizing melodies abound, perfect for showcasing musicality and skill. Part of the Red River Gold series for advanced ensembles, some "sleight of hand" may be required for handbell magicians to master the quick change of ringing techniques and thus perform musical magic, but the result will be - you guessed it - magical! 11595830 3-7 Octave Handbells opt. Handchimes . . . . . . .L4 6.50 Riu, Riu, Chiu Spanish villancico from Cancionere de Upsala arr. Alex Guebert. Thrilling rhythmic variety and percussion drives this incredible arrangement from beginning to end. Don't miss out on the excitement this holiday season! 11623805 3-7 Octave Handbells . . .L4 5.95 Riverscape Paul McKlveen. This original work is the winner of "Sounds of Nature" 2024 Bells of the Sound Competition and a winner it is! Various aspects of rivers are described musically: the majestic steady-flowing rivers, the slow, curving meanders, the raging river rapids, the waterfall and the plunge pool below. This auditory adventure begins with singing bells and the introduction of the lovely, lyrical main theme. From there, tempo variations and key changes drive the experience forward while expressive LV phrases and the creative use of many bell techniques are so effective that one's eyes can close and imagine every aspect of this river journey. This is a must-have for the more advanced handbell choir! 11607467 4-7 Octave Handbells . .L4+ 6.95 Rocky Mountain Portrait Jason W. Krug. This sweeping and dramatic original work captures the grandeur and changing moods of the mountain landscape. With contrasting sections that range from bold and rhythmic to serene and lyrical, this richly-textured musical journey will engage advanced ensembles both technically and expressively. 11626660 3-7 Octave Handbells opt. 3-7 Oct. Handchimes . . . .L4 5.50 Rondo con Spirito Caleb J. Onstead. This exciting original work with engaging rhythms and expressions will be amazing to play and fabulously enjoyable for the audience. Written in 4/4 time, the accents and syncopated lines in the treble melody are tricky and will be a bit of a challenge but the solidly accented accompaniment supports it beautifully. Malleted notes, marts, mart-lifts, shakes and thumb damps are crafted to emphasize the rhythms. There are several key changes and the addition of a few calm, peaceful moments rung on handchimes segues beautifully back to the main theme as it rollicks forward to the dynamic ending. This title is definitely a must-have for more accomplished groups! 11583317 5-7 Octave Handbells w/5-7 Oct. Handchimes . .L5 6.25 Rondo Toccata Paul A. McKlveen. This spirited original tune is perfect for the advanced ensemble looking for a chance to show off their technique. The lively, dance-like 6/8 time keeps the piece moving along, and unexpected harmonic changes keep the setting fresh in the listener's ear. Optional 3-5 octave handchimes. 11620300 3-5 Octave Handbells . . .L4 5.95 Solace Michael J. Glasgow. Commissioned by Cindy Karm for the Concert Bells of Fort Worth, this dreamy, richly textured piece evokes the cold of winter without being a holiday song. While not extremely difficult from a technical standpoint, the music affords a stunning opportunity for musical nuance and expression. It is a journey into a harsh winter, forging a path through cold months of long nights until we reach the renewing warmth of spring after 81 spellbinding, captivating measures. 11623889 5-6 Octave Handbells . . .L4 5.95 Thank You "I love being able to find a new piece for my classes and immediately have it for students.
