In the Middle Ages, master stonemasons built immense, light-filled cathedrals with vast, reverberant interiors. These awe-inspiring churches stood in stark contrast to the hard labor, hunger, and disease that marked daily life. This piece evokes both the adversity and the spiritual transcendence of medieval life, using musical material borrowed from the 12th century along with heavy metal rock. 11621750 String Orchestra . . . . . 60.00 11621782 Additional Score . . . . . . 9.00 Strings in Flight—Ron Castonguay. This driving and uptempo work for string orchestra is sure to soar! With rhythmic pizzicato ostinatos and an energetic melody, this fast-paced contemporary string piece will surely give your students the momentum they need to take flight! 11597538 String Orchestra . . . . . 45.00 Sunrise (Music for a Celebration of Life)—Castonguay, Ron. "Sunrise" is a truly accessible work for string orchestra and piano, and is perfect for celebration of life ceremonies, memorial services, end of year events, and any concert that needs an introspective work to add to its programming. "Sunrise" is a programmatic work intended to depict the beauty and power of a sunrise, specifically in the spring. This music was composed in loving memory of Noah Ram 23, a high school musician that tragically lost his life in a car accident just before the start of his senior year. Noah was an avid multi-instrumentalist, whose principal instruments were the piano, guitar, trumpet and contrabass. It is my hope that this music honors the memory of Noah. The metaphors and symbolism inherent in a sunrise afford the performers and listeners of this music the ability to interpret the melodies and harmonies on a personal level. May this music lift the spirits of all those that have lost a loved one far too soon, and bring feelings of hopefulness and gratefulness with each new sunrise. 11528576 String Orchestra . . . . . 50.00 Sunrise Dreams—Joshua V. Hinkel. Capture the beauty and peace of a majestic sunrise - the crash of waves, wild grasses in the wind, birds and animals beginning their day. A sunrise is a metaphor of dreams and ambitions that can set one's life on a new path of hope, grace, peace, and tranquility. This day is new, our slate is clean, and anything is possible when we close our eyes and dream. 11622382 String Orchestra . . . . . 55.00 11622470 String Orchestra . . . . . 12.00 Sweet New Moon—Yukiko Nishimura. A beautifully heartfelt work for young musicians, with lush harmonies and suspensions that will stretch the musicianship of the performers. A thoughtful, meditative work, perfect for your concert program. 11100109 String Orchestra . . . . . 65.00 11100110 Additional Score . . . . . 10.00 Terra Nova—Richard Meyer.
