Abide in Us, O Bread of
Life—David M. Cherwien.
This hymn has been expanded from
the original setting, creating a tender
anthem with optional flute, ideal
for communion and sacramental
use. The comforting tune draws
the listener in and reflects the need
of God's presence in our lives.

Agnus Dei—Ruth Morris Gray.
Using the traditional Agnus
Dei text, this expressive setting provides an opportunity to work
on choral tone, rubato, and legato singing. A rich melody ebbs
and flows over the colorful harmonic palette while a captivating
piano theme winds its way throughout. For added flexibility, a
few optional notes in the two-part voicing offer moments of SSA
harmony. Perfect for church and school choirs of all ages.

Ave Verum Corpus—Michael John Trotta. Opening with
a section of plainchant, this setting of the traditional Latin text
most known in the Mozart or Byrd versions shimmers with
modern a cappella harmonies. Cluster cadences and expressive
vocal lines pair wonderfully with this text in an original work
that effectively combines tradition with innovation. It is equally
suitable for concert and service use.

Day of Arising—Carl Schalk/arr. Michael Burkhardt.
This accessible arrangement of the hymn tune RAABE is perfect
for the smaller choir with optional congregational singing. Susan
Palo Cherwien's text compares the story of Jesus's appearance
to the disciples on the roadway with the way in which Christ is
revealed to us in the breaking of bread. Organ accompaniment
and optional oboe or clarinet are very effective.

is based on the communion antiphon for the first Sunday
of Lent. It is easy to learn and sing from memory while in
procession to receive the Eucharist. With verses rooted in
scripture, this beautiful assembly song deals not only with
the theme of God's love for us through Jesus' sacrifice, but
also healing, God's Word, and our own longing for God. It is
appropriate for use on Ash Wednesday and throughout Lent.

the melody to shine. Accessible and rich sounding, this is a superb

Wade in the Living Water—Rebecca Fair & Michael Barrett.
This unique anthem begins slowly with a quote from Wade in the
Water, optionally sung as a solo, which lays the framework for a jazzy
appeal to renewal and commitment. An original melody with a swing
feel is contrasted with a legato section before pairing with a return of
the traditional spiritual. "Follow your dream to the living stream. Wade
on in, live again."
