He was a favorite pupil of Haydn, and both

but is now better known for his violin duets. In
this arrangement from one of those duets, the
melody is passed around the sections. It is a good
introduction to compound time, A minor, and the
tonic major of A. It also allows the students to
explore elegant Classical bowing styles.
