tale. Pamela Martin's narrative is filled with inspired

wise men, and, finally, Christians into the world to
proclaim the gospel message that a new light is
comin'. The music is an inventive mixture of spiritual
and carol arrangements with newly composed
music. The score sparkles throughout, punctuating
the call with joyous harmonies and lush melodies.
Designed as a flexible resource for the busy church
musician, this cantata can be performed in its
entirety with one or more readers, choir, soloists,
and orchestration or it can serve as a source of
individual keyboard-accompanied anthems for

and events of the night Christ was born. Lucado's
words, taken from his book of the same title, are
presented through a narrator, Mary, Joseph,
and Simeon. Fettke provides a wonderful blend
of celebrative songs with selections that are
tender and heartwarming. New songs, familiar
selections, praise and worship pieces, and carols
are beautifully combined for a seamless musical
score. The musical allows much flexibility, and
Chip Arnold has provided detailed production notes

an inspiring celebration of God's gift of eternal light!
Traditional Christmas carols are masterfully blended
with original music to tell the timeless story of the
birth of Christ, the light of the world. An entirely
unique feature of this musical is the optional 4-hand
piano score, which adds tremendous energy and

a simple handbell part plus a variety of percussion

Sing NoelHal Hopson. This is a service of lessons
and carols, except that the lessons are not scripture
but poetry. The work uses hymn texts as well as
readings drawn from many centuries of sacred
English poetry, representing some of the most
beautiful Christmas literary gems of all time. The
work may be sung with organ only, or with strings,
handbells and hand percussion to add color and
variety to the presentation. There are three solos;
one for a tenor, one for a soprano, and another for
either soprano or alto voice. You may also include
a youth or children's choir in the performance.
There are opportunities for congregational
participation as well as one carol for SSA voices,
and one for TTB voices. Without question, this
is a work deserving your careful consideration!
