The origins of the Huron Carol are highlighted in this simplistic
arrangement. Minor key harmonies, an understated piano accompaniment,
and moments of a capella voices enhance the haunting quality of the
beloved tune.

Wake the World With Joy!
Vicki Tucker Courtney.
This jubilant original spiritual is filled with Christmas hope and joy. The
effect of the the new melody paired with the traditional spiritual Go Tell It
On The Mountain is fabulous. The call and response format contrasts a
tenor solo with a rhythmic reply from the choir. The optional hand drum
adds character and the vocal parts are easily achieved.

What Star Is This?
Jay Althouse.
"What star is this, with beams so bright, more lovely than the noonday
light?" This meaningful and poignant piece is suitable for either Christmas
or Epiphany. Smooth choral lines and a supportive piano accompaniment
allow your choir to focus on the message of Christ's birth.

We Three Kings
What Strangers Are These?
arr. Matthew Culloton.
With a flair for the dramatic, this unaccompanied setting of the well-known
carol uses three male soloists (one baritone, two bass) as the kings' voices
over the choir. There is accompaniment provided by oboe solo as it dances
around the melody and, in one passage, even quotes Greensleeves.
Creative divisi chorus sings backup to the kings and then takes the lead at
all the refrains, which are set differently. Here's a fun and sprightly piece
that will give your good soloists a chance to shine!

Dan Forrest.
Adapted from an old Scottish carol, this sensitive new setting is
accompanied with piano, flute and classical guitar. The piece celebrates
not only Jesus' humble birth but the plan of redemption that began to
unfold at the stable in Bethlehem on Christmas night. A rich musical
tapestry, this striking choral offering is particularly effective for Christmas
Eve services.

Welcome to Our World
Chris Rice/arr. Jack Schrader.
"Tears are falling, hearts are breaking, how we need to hear from God.
You've been promised, we've been waiting; welcome, Holy Child." Picture
yourself standing by the manger, welcoming the baby Jesus to our broken
world. The awareness of who he is and what he has come to do is the
essence of the well-loved song. With lush choral harmonies, this Christmas
setting is delicately melodic and sensitive and it will impact all who hear its
timely message!

What Child Is This?
arr. Russell Robinson.
In this setting of the traditional Greensleeves tune, the meter alternates
between 6/8 and 3/4 - it's such a simple technique, but it breathes new
life into the traditional carol, and the flavor of the Renaissance is not lost.
Perfect for a madrigal dinner or a Christmas concert or church service, this
is delightful!

While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks
Craig Courtney.
