4 Loved You—Jay Rouse. "I loved you; and
I
perhaps I love you still..." Powerful in its
simplicity, this poem by Aleksandr Pushkin
inspires Jay Rouse's emotional choral setting,
which uses contemporary harmonies and
a sweeping romantic melody to convey the
universal message of love and loss with great
sensitivity and depth. "God grant you find
another who will love you as tenderly and
truthfully as I."

von Kampen. In this exquisite choral setting
for mixed voices and piano, we find inspiration
from both the American spiritual and gospel
styles of an earlier century. A rich vocal solo
opens the piece, and later floats over luscious
chorals harmonized a touch of jazz to convey
the message. This is a finely crafted setting that
will be appreciated in the concert hall as well as
the church sanctuary.

Aluoch & Vivian Anyango/arr. Brian Tate.
From Kenya comes this rhythmic, energetic a
cappella work with percussion, in the Dholuo

the land in the form of rain and rivers, the
unison singing builds into natural harmonies.
This creative arrangement is perfect as a
processional, or even staged with movement.
A pronunciation/translation guide is included,
but the text is simple, consisting of only a few
repeated phrases. Highly recommended!
