Commissioned as part of a project to recognize the late Bill Carroll and his contributions to music education, this burning Latin original will be a performer and audience favorite. With a strong melodic line, abundant ensemble work and open solo space, this medium advanced chart has it all! 10431430 Jazz Ensemble. . . . . . . . . . . . MA 56.00 4 Fiesta del Tigre—Mike Story. Check out Mike Story's excellent Latin chart with an easy bossa groove. Features include a written-out trumpet solo, easy brass ranges, and optional parts to include flute, clarinet, horn, baritone horn, tuba, and vibraphone. It's also playable with optional reduced instrumentation. The tempo is suggested at about 140 bpm. Majestic, bold, and exciting, it's easy, well-written and effective for any concert! Originally composed by Gordon Goodwin for his Big Phat Band, this version is scored at the easy level by Mike Story. This Latin cha-cha is very accessible, with a written trumpet 1 solo, a montuno piano part that's cued in the saxes, an optional auxiliary percussion part, and a vibes part. Mike even included additional percussion parts for some winds to further enhance the Latin groove. Playable with optional reduced and expanded instrumentations. It Ain't Easy Goin' Green is a delightful trombone solo feature that honors the amazing talent of the great trombonist Urbie Green. This chart is an easy going bossa nova with accessible parts for the band and soloist. The solo is mostly written, but there are a few places where some improv chops are necessary. Highly melodic for both the ensemble and soloist, the ranges are reasonable and the band is featured as well as the soloist. Accessible trombone solo features are rare, and it's a happy coincidence that this one is so great!
