This chart takes the tune where it has never gone before, and it really likes going there! Faithful to the original yet creative and fresh, it's a great way to feature your ensemble, with written- out or ad lib solo space for trumpet, tenor and trombone. Highly recommended! 2701950 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 n One Note SambaAntonio Carlos Jobim/arr. Paul Murtha. When it comes to Latin compositions, it just doesn't get any better than the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim. Bob Curnow. Bob Curnow continues to add to his Pat Metheny Big Band Series with this wonderful light, laid-back, Latin/rock chart. It's easy to play, with limited ranges in the brass and a level of writing attractive even to a younger group. Beginning with the drums setting the groove in the intro, it transitions to the brass playing the melody with sax section punches, then a short sax soli, followed by full ensemble and a longer sax soli. The full ensemble closes it out. There is solo space for alto saxophone and trumpet/flugelhorn. Highly recommended! 10312733 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 52.00 n St. ThomasSonny Rollins/arr. If anyone asks, Zaragoza is a city in Spain! 10454536 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 Latin Medium H Afro BlueMongo Santamaria/arr. Michael Mossman. Made famous by John Coltrane, but treated here in a more traditional Afro-Latin style, this is something a little different for jazz ensemble. As with all Mossman charts, the rhythm section is meticulously notated to ensure the correct style. The 3/4 pattern throughout draws heavily on African influences and the melody is masterfully passed from section to section. A single pentatonic scale works for the solo section, making this a wonderful vehicle for involving many soloists. 2478928 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 Afro Blue (Little Big Band)Mongo Santamaria/ arr. Michael Mossman. Even though this is scored by Michael Philip Mossman for just six horns in the Little Big Band Series, the writing is sophisticated and full sounding.
