MA 18.00 n Garaje GatoGordon Goodwin. As performed by Gordon Goodwin's Little Phat Band, the instrumentation is tenor sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, electric bass, and drums. A Latin groove with montuno patterns by the rhythm section, this chart really comes alive and stays focused with energy. The tempo is 125 bpm and the brass parts are demanding. All parts have solo space. Hot Latin! 10355594 3 Horns & Rhythm Section . . . . . MA 45.00 4 Get with ItBob Turner. This straight ahead jazz/rock chart has a very cool laid back feel. The bass part is simple and adds to the quality of the chart. The pianist carries the rhythm with a repeated pattern and needs to keep the pattern steady throughout to ensure success. There is a suggested solo for trumpet 1 with Harmon mute in the solo section. Flexibility is the key to this original composition. It's structured so that it can be played with any 4, 5 or 6 horn ensemble and rhythm section. Hard Hittin' is a swing/funk chart written at about 184 bpm, but sounds like it's written at half that tempo...a great feel! The drummer needs to be on top of the game in this one. There's a suggested solo in the trumpet 1 part with chords in all parts for extended solos. This chart is structured so that it can be played with any 4, 5 or 6 horn ensemble and rhythm section. Mark Taylor. Mark Taylor has crafted a unique version, in the six- horn format, of this familiar Beatles classic. Along the way there are sophisticated rhythmic stylings and a terrific shout chorus for the entire ensemble. M 45.00 Hit ItRick Hirsch. Hit It is a 16th note funk chart with a Tower of Power flavor, set over a modal sounding A minor blues structure. An accessible solo vehicle with ad lib solo parts included for all, it's a great set closer. Don't miss this medium tempo swing chart with great melodic lines and options for open solos. There is one suggested solo written for tenor sax in the solo section and chord symbols for all horn players. All players have interesting parts and this chart features flexible instrumentation that is playable by 4, 5 or 6 horns plus rhythm section. Fifteen different horn parts are included so that it may be played by virtually any combination of horns plus rhythm section. The rhythm section parts are fully notated so the players can find a groove they can enjoy by simply playing the parts as written. With a retro swing feel, this chart sounds like Benny Goodman has returned for another shot. You can almost hear Gene Krupa playing the drum part in the middle section.
