Opening with tribal drums, then featuring a haunting melody simulating the traditional wooden flute, this work is based on those two themes. Both elements are developed, varied, and enhanced throughout, with modern-sounding chords and rhythms. By the end, the marriage of the old and the new is complete. This powerful work closes as it began: a restatement of themes representing the musical and historical foundation of the region of Alberta, Canada. 10460893 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 70.00 10460894 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 7.50 4 The Eternal Optimist—Ed Huckeby. Featuring exciting rhythms and modern harmonies, this direct and intense work will excite and engage both players and audiences. A recurring ostinato rhythm is featured throughout, sometimes powerful and percussive, while at other times more nuanced, with opportunities for phrasing and musicality. The contrasting middle section provides a brief respite from its stormy surroundings which return for a relentless finish. Truly inspiring! 10449848 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 50.00 10449849 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 6.00 4 Foiled Again! (The Villain's Gallop)—Jack Wilds. Program this alternative to a traditional concert march as the opener or closer for your next concert! This tribute to the dastardly villains of the silent movie era will excite your performers and have your audience on the edge of their seats as they wonder whether the hero will arrive in time to save the day. Fun and exhilarating! 10459817 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 65.00 10459818 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 8.00 4 Force of Destiny—Larry Neeck. A bold, beautiful, and upbeat celebration of the meaning of life and the pursuit of one's destiny. Commissioned in honor of a beloved band director who passed away too young, it's a sensitive and expressive showcase for your band. The variety of tempos, colors, and expressions in this piece will completely display the subtlety and power of your ensemble. 10458962 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 78.00 10458963 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 8.00 10458964 Full Score . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 25.00 4 Forgotten Heroes—Jeremy Bell. Warm and majestic, this chorale-style piece focuses on developing musicianship with flowing musical lines and supportive countermelodies. Elaborate harmonies and expressive moments create a musical memorial for all those who never saw fame or glory, but worked to make the world a better place. 10453083 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 52.00 10453143 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 7.00 The Heart's Cry—Bill Whelan/arr. Sean O'Loughlin. Here's one of the selections from the famous production that brought Celtic music to the fore front of popular music. Beautifully scored, this touching and lush ballad will provide a truly magical moment to any program. 10460912 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 55.00 4 In Endless Song—Robert Lowry/arr. Randall D. Standridge. The lyrics and music of this hymn express a true feeling of inner peace and joy that is displayed with little or no alteration, letting the natural beauty of the melodic line speak for itself. Band composers have long used hymn tunes as the basis for compositions, creating a large and rich repertoire of hymn song settings, and this wonderfully musical arrangement is a welcome addition to that body of works. 10449854 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 70.00 10449855 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . 10.00 4 Lament and Jig for Mickey—Gary P. Gilroy. We don't know who Mickey was, but he must have been pretty popular to have this awesome piece written in his memory. The quiet and mournful lament opens, but the doesn't dwell very long before moving into the lilting jig. Tuneful with colorful and varied percussion, it quickly changes the mood and soon has everyone swaying to the almost clock-like hypnotic allure. 10433172 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 79.00 10433173 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . 15.00 4 Legacy of Honor—Larry Clark. The celebratory nature of this overture is evident from the very first note. Written for the 125th anniversary of one of the oldest performing concert bands in America, it's a musical tribute to the many dedicated musicians that have been a part of this ensemble. The lively Allegro sections bring a festive flavor, while the lush middle section brings out the sentimental feelings of the grand occasion. 10457070 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 90.00 10457071 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . 12.00 4 The Magician's Secret—Joseph Eidson. Tricks, grand illusions and impossible feats of magic! The mysterious magician bedazzles us all with spectacles of flame, smoke and and objects that appear as if from thin air. All this occurs as the music builds in intensity, climaxing with a grand finale of dazzling light and sound! 10449880 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 50.00 10449881 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 6.00 4 Mechanism—Todd Stalter. The world of machines is all around us: they influence every aspect of our lives. This creative piece allows us to musically enter that mechanized universe. Whether it's the precision workings of the gears and movements of a wind-up watch, or the industrial workings of a monstrous, steam-driven machine, it will transport you into that fascinating world. 10453085 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 55.00 10453145 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 7.00 4 Metamorphosis—Andrew Boysen, Jr.. The title refers to the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. The piece opens with a beautiful statement which then morphs into something new in the faster middle section. The triumphant final section emerges with lively percussion and ensemble swells, simulating the butterfly getting ready to take flight. This imaginative work ends peacefully as the butterfly floats off into the distance. 10458633 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 65.00 10458634 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 7.00 4 Of Gale Force Winds—Richard L. Saucedo. Based around rhythmic figures that create a wind-like effect, and combined with a playful melody, this piece alternates between 6/8 and 9/8, staying rhythmically dynamic throughout. A very brief moment of repose hints at the period of calm that comes in the middle or "eye" of bigger storms. The fury of the storm then returns, with darker sonorities and increased energy, as this descriptive work comes to an exciting conclusion. 10434473 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 65.00 10434474 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . 10.00 4 Of Time And Change—James Swearingen. A well-established hymn creates the beautiful introduction to this outstanding musical fantasy. Spirited themes lead us to the beauty of a highly expressive middle section followed by a driving rendition of the hymn for a joyous ending, both bold and dramatic. Carefully orchestrated to make your group sound its absolute best! 10458965 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 78.00 10458966 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 8.00 10458967 Full Score . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 25.00 4 The Red Covered Bridge—Robert Sheldon. A red covered bridge is a local attraction in Priceton, Illinois, that served as the inspiration for this lyrical composition. The serene setting brings to mind the many people who have crossed that bridge in simpler times, and the stories of their lives. This piece hopes to capture those moments of reflection, joy, children playing, and powerful moments of resolve. 10453129 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 70.00 10453189 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 9.00 4 Remembrance—Larry Daehn. Here is a beautiful "In Memoriam" piece reminiscent of the composer's A Song for Friends. A gorgeous 3/4 melody emerges from the low voices, is joined by an ethereal woodwind choir, develops into a majestic, noble utterance, and then fades into quietness. The perfect choice to remember someone in your school or community. 10460610 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 72.00 4 Revenge of the Swarm—Larry Neeck. In homage to the "B movie" suspense/horror movies of the 50s and 60s, here is a fresh, unconventional, but totally entertaining work for young band. Melodic themes contrast with jagged phrases and lots of special percussion effects will create quite the "buzz." Don't get "stung" by passing up this cool programmatic piece. 10458917 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 52.00 10458918 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 7.00 4 Ruckus—Randall Standridge. The dictionary defines "ruckus" as a noisy commotion, fracas or rumpus and this very original work is just that. Loud, boisterous, aggressive and mixed meter, heavy percussion and thumping rhythm give this piece a decidedly urban feel. No doubt your students will be musically entranced by this powerfully rhythmic, yet sophisticated work. 10457953 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 70.00 10457954 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . 10.00 4 Shorewood Overture—Michael Sweeney. Shorewood Overture is designed to be performed by multi-level bands. Rather than the typical massed band number in which everyone plays at once, this ingenious overture allows each level to be featured briefly by itself, along with sections when everyone plays together. In addition, the Level 3 parts include cues, allowing the work to be performed by a single ensemble. This is ideal for district-wide festivals! 10460902 Band Set & Score Includes 3 Complete Sets of Parts & 3 Scores . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 95.00 10460905 Additional Score Level 1 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5.00 10460904 Additional Score Level 2 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7.50 10460903 Additional Score Level 3 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7.50 4 Up From Earth's Center—Rob Romeyn. This brilliant programmatic work begins on the morning of the great 1868 Hawaii earthquake. The peaceful and beautiful opening sounds soon change as we are musically transported to the events of the fateful day, as the earthquake and resulting Tsunami ensue. Certain to become a classic for concert and festival use, this is music of highest quality! 10458947 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 88.00 10458948 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . 12.00 10458949 Full Score . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 30.00
