constant sense of propulsion and rippling waves
of motion, this piece is aptly titled. The initial

tension filled section with multiple layers of sound
scattered throughout the ensemble. Each new

Starlight—David Gorham. Display a broad
pallet of sonic colors in your concert hall. A
light and spritely opening evokes images of
darkening night skies as one by one the stars
appear. Soon, as with the ever growing stars,
the instrumentation grows into an expansive
landscape, filling the halls with sounds as
colorful and full as a clear starry night. Then,
just as it started, the sounds begin to fall off,
gradually fading out just as the stars before the
approaching day. Stunningly beautiful!

movement from "The Soul Has Many Motions,"

as it began, slowly and gradually diminishing,
disappearing quietly into the air.
