Contemplation
Karen Lakey Buckwalter.
Perfect for a Sunday morning prelude or a
lovely, quiet change of pace in a concert setting,
Karen Lakey Buckwalter's original composition,
Contemplation, is a meditative piece featuring a
lyrical and memorable melody. The martellato lifts
add a bit of interest and the optional handchimes
in the middle section contrast nicely with the outer
sections. An edition for 26-string lever harp is also
available - the two editions are in the same key and
may be played together if desired.

Contemplation &
Dance on
kingsfold
arr. Hart Morris.
The 'contemplation' section of this arrangement
evokes the sedate mood of many of the hymn texts
with which it is associated; the random ringing,
singing bells and mellow tone of the handchimes
all contribute to the soothing effect. The passing
of the melody between octaves in the handchimes
works beautifully for interest. The 'dance' section
introduces a more celebratory mood that is full of
excitement, with a quicker tempo, featuring the use
of mallets, ring touch and martellato techniques,
plus optional hand drum. In addition, a flute part
which enhances both sections with a slightly Native-
American feel may be added.

God of Amazing Grace
arr. Cathy Moklebust.
Two hymns focusing on grace are interwoven in this
arrangement: God of Grace and God of Glory (Guide
Me, O Thou Great Jehovah) and Amazing Grace.
After a fanfare introduction with LV's and shakes,
the first section is a joyous and lively treatment
of
CWM RHONNDA utilizing an exciting malleted
accompaniment. A gentle, flowing section follows,
antiphonally incorporating both tunes over a moving
LV bass line, and employing handchimes as an
option. The final section is majestic, triumphant and
fully chordal, and closes with a brief return to the
malleted accompaniment used earlier. This unique
arrangement is suitable at most any time during the
church year, for concerts and for festivals.

I Want Jesus to Walk
with Me
arr. Jason Krug.
This very creative setting of an old great spiritual
brings lots of interest between the various staccato
offbeats and the ringing of the bells. When optional
handchimes are added, the mellow and rich melody
gives way to a jazzy syncopated rendition that will
delight audiences everywhere. With its meticulous
attention to detail and style, this selection would be a
perfect choice for any worship service or festival.

If Thou But Suffer God to
Guide Thee
Georg Neumark/arr. Matt Compton.
Here is a powerful hymn arrangement for 3-7
octave bell choirs. The driving rhythmic pattern, with
martellato, martellato lifts and mallets, plus a layered
rhythmic feel of 3/4 time on 6/8, energizes the piece
through constant motion. All ringers get an opportunity
to shine in this arrangement as the melody moves
through each range of bells, building excitement as it
goes until the final mallet roll at the end!

An Irish Medley
arr. Jason Krug.
A flowing introduction played on handchimes gently
leads into the first of three well-known Irish tunes,
Morning has Broken. A stirring setting of The King
of Love My Shepherd Is ensues, followed by Be
Thou My Vision. Handchimes at the beginning and
end are a nice contrast, and with just one verse of
each of the three hymns, this charming, accessible
arrangement is not too long for worship services.
While optional, the inclusion of flute adds a special
dimension to this beautiful arrangement.

Portions of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata are
successfully combined with the hymn tune

arr. Larry Shackley & Michael Helman.
Michael Helman has expertly arranged Larry
Shackley's exuberant piano work, I Sing the Mighty
Power of God, to create a perfect handbell piece for
concerts, festivals, and worship services. The mixed
meter section incorporates numerous stopped-bell
techniques, including mallets and martellato, which

Siyahamba
arr. Sondra K. Tucker.
A bright, energetic setting of the familiar African
song, Siyahamba, featuring extensive use of
martellato and other stopped sounds that provide
excitement and make this a fun piece for ringers and
listeners. This Little Light of Mine is introduced in the
middle section for contrast, before a return of the
original theme that will have the audience tapping
their toes right along. Perfect for festivals, as well as
school and church use.

The Spirit in Our Midst
arr. Sandra Eithun.
Incorporating the hymns, Spirit of the Living God and
Breathe on Me, Breath of God, this approachable,
yet effective setting is an ideal offering for Pentecost,
Communion or anytime throughout the church
year when the Holy Spirit is highlighted in worship.
The optional narration creates the backdrop for
contemplating images of a "mighty wind" that
was experienced by the disciples on that day. This
setting can also be a stand-alone bell piece without
the narration. It is a great choice for developing
ensembles to work on lyrical LV lines, expression and
phrasing, while giving a memorable presentation.
