Come Touch the Robe (Encounters with

room, it displayed His humility as a servant. At

us experience His resurrection and the victory
over death.It is through these personal, touching
moments that our hearts are fully prepared to
meet Jesus in an intimate way, allowing us to
experience the healing, the glory, and the power of
Christ, and rejoice in the stirring celebration of the

work was born from Pepper Choplin's earnest
desire to create truly soul-stirring music for these
most sacred moments in history. His vision was

setting of the Passion story in which a narrator
leads us from scene to scene, retracing Christ's
path during His last days in human form. Five
brief off-stage monologues from those witnessing
Christ's final steps on earth enhance the stark
reality of each scene with their observations, their
frustrations, and their fears. The music supplies
the drama and passion through its incredible mix
of styles that range from classical to Appalachian,
bluegrass, and Celtic folk idioms. The work also
offers the flexibility to conclude with the stirring
crucifixion scene or to continue the walk through the
triumphant resurrection of Christ. The cumulative

Followers of the Lamb (A Cantata for Holy

the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane and

an instrumental prelude and six choral movements.
Optional solos, narrators and chamber orchestra
offer maximum flexibility in the presentation. In

I Am the Lord of the DanceJoel Raney.
Sydney Carter's classic hymn Lord of the Dance
is a metaphor of the life of Christ. In beautiful,
poetic language, Carter describes Jesus as The
Piper, calling his followers to the dance of life.
This 30-minute musical from Joel Raney is an
elaboration on that hymn, portraying each verse
individually in a dramatic, colorful presentation.
All retelling the story from John 3:16, "For God
so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him may not
perish, but may have eternal life." Appropriate for
use anytime during Lent or Holy Week, for Palm
Sunday or Easter morning, there is an additional
narration and underscore that leads into an exciting,
complete setting of Lord of the Dance, celebrating
Christ's victorious resurrection. For Maundy
Thursday or Good Friday, it may be concluded
with the musical benediction My Jesus, I Love
Thee. Narration and scripture have been carefully
chosen to complete the story, tying together the
verses of Lord of the Dance with a variety of other
timeless hymns and songs, creating a meaningful
worship experience for the congregation. The
piano accompaniment works extremely well
by itself, while the optional instrumental parts
require a minimal number of players and will
enhance the overall effect.
