IZZY: No, my nickname is Izzy. My real name is "Izaiah" . . . (whispers) with
a "z."
STEVE:
(laughing) Wow! Izaiah . . .
JOE:
#with a z; #that's original! (Izzy looks down in shame. Eugenia attempts
to change the subject)
EUGENIA:
(awkwardly) Ooo! Izaiah! Hmmm. I was just going over those Old
Testament books! I started to tell you earlier about the 1978 Bible
Quiz Finals . . . (all kids roll their eyes and audibly groan)
STEVE:
I still think you should've won it!
EUGENIA: Oh, and I would have if I hadn't mispronounced "Ha—, Ha—"
(struggles to say Habbakuk; finally gives up.) Izzy, did you know that
Isaiah is very important in the Christmas story?! In fact, all the
prophets . . .
JOY:
(interrupts) Profits? Did you say profits? (smiling; excited) My dad
says it's always important to make profits in business. (all kids look
at Joy like she's crazy)
EUGENIA:
(laughing) No, Joy . . . not that kind of profit. I'm referring to the
prophets in the Old Testament who told the Christmas story. The
prophets were called by God to speak for Him and be His messenger
to the people.
(music begins to "It's Still the Same Story")
