While not difficult, this setting of John Thornburg's new text of praise to God will prove ideal for any service remembering and affirming God's constancy. The creative choral setting and colorful organ accompaniment combine to paint a joyful, yet introspective picture of God's continuing presence in our lives. An antiphon of praise contrasts with a lyrical melody whose text details the many evidences of God's grace and constancy. 10523311 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.95 4 Matchless God of GraceRichard A. Nichols. How great is this? A new hymn, with a dynamic text and lofty strain, written in a regal style that salutes the church's incredible legacy of hymnody. With a text based on the work of Christian mystic Julian of Norwich, this provocative work for organ and four-part choir compares God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit to a wise, loving, and merciful mother. Within the text is also a gentle prayer that our faith be firmly rooted and encouraged to grow and flourish. The organ accompaniment of this resolute hymn fully supports and moves with the vocal parts. 10519437 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.90 4t Not To UsCarson P. Cooman. Cooman's setting of the first verse of Psalm 115 begins with a prayerful, litany-like character. The music builds in intensity, leading to a joyous celebration of God's "love and faithfulness," and a vibrantly climatic treatment of "not to us, but to your name give glory." The quiet opening music returns at the close. 10526898 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.65 l O Give Thanks Unto the LordJohn Rutter. Composed in 1977, this triumphant setting of words from Psalms 136 and 137 is now published for the first time following the rediscovery of the lost manuscript. Rutter's early style features parallel harmonies and scalic runs. This is a great addition to the treble repertoire! 10505854 SSA with Organ . . . . . . . . . . 2.95 4 O God of All LifeJoseph Martin Kraus & Marilyn Biery. An optional congregational part is available as a separate download. 10523315 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.95 l Search Me, O GodJoshua Evanovich. A moving a cappella setting of the famous text from Matthew 6. Originally written as a TTBB anthem, this new SATBB voicing is every bit as moving and successful. The 3/4 time closing section is more challenging but worth the effort; this liturgical motet will be a moving part of any worship service. 10519422 SATBB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.00 l Shadow and SubstanceDavid W. Music. Dan Damon's gentle, folk-like tune and expressive text on the mystery of God are here set for choir and keyboard. Brief interludes separate the three stanzas, which are arranged in a variety of voicings, with the melody passed among the parts, including the piano. 10523298 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.80 l Sing Joyfully to God! Go Forth into the World! arr. James Chepponis. This hymn concertato on FESTAL SONG contains two complete texts, increasing its usefulness. The first text is based on Psalm 100 and is suitable as a hymn to begin a service, and the second is based on Matthew 28:19-20 and is suitable to conclude a service. (They are not intended for use in the same service.) It begins with a brass and choral fanfare that leads into a sturdy unison rendition of the first stanza, and develops from there. A modulation recaps the opening fanfare and leads into the final stanza with a vocal descant and a florid part for a solo reed stop on the organ. 10514462 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.85 4 Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Abovearr. David Schwoebel. The tune "Mit Freuden Zart" and an original tune are combined to create an anthem that feels both familiar and fresh. A reproducible part for congregation is included. 10514474 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 l Sing to the Lord a New SongKenneth T. Kosche. This anthem presents the familiar text of Psalm 96:1-3 with a buoyant setting in which each voice sings its own melody to portions of the text. The keyboard provides a rhythmic supporting voice based upon both of the vocal melodies. The voice parts are easy to learn because each is an engaging melody on its own. 10523299 Two-Part Mixed . . . . . . . . . . 1.80 l Soli Deo GloriaR. Kevin Boesiger. This energetic number can serve as a church anthem of praise or a concert number of celebration for high school, college and community groups. The 7/8 pattern is entrancing and fun, the harmonies playful and clever. 10512735 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.35 10512736 Instrumental Parts Brass & Percussion . . . . . . . 0.00 lt Song of CreationHoward Helvey. This song to the divine creation of the world sets part of the Benedicite text from the U.S. Book of Common Prayer. The four unaccompanied voice parts are used to great effect, with phrases often beginning in strong unison before opening out into rich and colourful harmonies. Helvey highlights the words through the use of homophonic textures and changing time signatures to follow the natural stresses of the text. 10505855 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.70 l 'Tis the Gift to Be Simplearr. Nicholas Micchelli. This SAB a cappella arrangement is just the thing for those choirs with few male singers. From its simple unison beginning to its canonic treatment on verse three, your choir will enjoy sharing this special anthem of thanksgiving. 10428600 SAB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.25 4 A Triumph SongHugh Benham. That glorious, lofty, English cathedral sound emerges easily from British composer Hugh Benham. Using a text by 17th-century author George Wither, Benham uses a hymn-style format, typical of Anglo anthems. Accompanied by organ, this anthem celebrates the ascension yet works equally well for general use. 10513653 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.10 lt Ubi CaritasSean Michael Salamon. A beautiful, tender setting of the traditional Latin text that features delicate melodic lines and a fluid accompaniment. The contrasting middle section provides interest and movement, and the echoed phrases, independent vocal lines, and limited ranges allow for it to be easily mastered for concert or festival. A pronunciation guide and translation are included. 10512921 Three-Part Mixed . . . . . . . . . 2.10 10512922 Two-Part . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.95 10512923 P/A CD . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27.95 l Vencera el Amor (Love Shall Overcome) Carlos Colon-Quintana. This piece takes its inspiration from Romans 12:21: "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." It was written to commemorate the martyrdom of six Jesuit priests and two women on the campus of Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) in El Salvador in 1989. It may be sung entirely in Spanish or English, or by alternating the two languages. The music moves through a sense of lament and ends with a gentle proclamation of the victory of good over evil. 10514471 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.70 4 We Are God's PeopleJohannes Brahms/arr. David Schwoebel. "Music of the masters, for the Master" is exemplified in this sturdy adaptation of an illustrious Brahms melody. A faith-affirming text reminds the church of its mission, while stately part-writing and solid organ support lifts the piece into the hearts of the listener.
