It's hot! 2471441 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 40.00 4 Pollo Roja (The Red Chicken)Les Sabina. We haven't heard a better original Latin tune at this grade level than Pollo Roja! It's a cha-cha to be performed at around 146 bpm, has easy brass ranges, includes a written or ad lib alto sax solo, a cool melody, section solis, and it's fun to hear and play. This is a well-crafted chart that will guarantee maximum interest from players and audiences! Playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations. This smooth Latin favorite has been around for more than 50 years and recorded countless times, including recently by Michael Buble. Here is a modern spin on this timeless tune with written solos for trombone 1 and alto sax 1, and a trumpet 1 range to written E top space. This is one of Stevie Wonder's signature hits from the 1970s, and here is a masterfully arranged easy version in a light bossa style. The trombones grab the spotlight in the beginning and again at the end. In between, the saxes and trumpets take turns with the melody, and there are short written or ad lib solos for trumpet and alto sax. Playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations, this one also includes bass lines and piano voicings that are completely written. Composed in the mid 1950s, Bim-Bom is considered the very first bossa nova! Notably recorded by artists such as Sergio Mendez, Astrud Gilberto, and Stan Getz, this version of this familiar classic features an upbeat yet elegant Latin groove along with the smooth melodies and rich harmonies of the original. There are written solos for tenor sax and trumpet, and the lead trumpet range goes to a top line F with optional G on top of the staff. This chart will also sound great with optional or expanded instrumentation. This is a superb chart from beginning to end.
