is what this creative piece is all about, and it
achieves a magical effect! The choral parts for
either three-part mixed or SATB voices are very
simple, while much of the effect is produced by the
piano and a small group of percussion instruments
(cymbals, glockenspiel, timpani, shaker & triangle).
The simple text describes the excitement of the
approaching storm: "Something's coming...I can
tell. From the heavens, from the well. Moving
Eastward, from the West. Dark and angry; will it
rest?" Finally, the chorus makes the sound of falling
rain with random finger snaps. This is very special!
Highly recommended!
