A whirling, twirling Andalusian dancer is vividly portrayed in this setting of a traditional Spanish folksong. Well-crafted vocal lines over a colorful piano accompaniment make this an excellent choice for developing choirs to show their Latin flair! The text is well balanced between Spanish and English, with lots of fun "la-la-la" phrases. This winsome poem from Robert Louis Stevenson's A Child's Garden of Verses depicts a child's view of the world from atop a tree. It is set in the most charming way, with a playful melody, complementary counterlines and a nimble piano accompaniment. "Up into the cherry tree, who should climb but little me? I held the trunk with both my hands, and looked abroad in foreign lands..." This is simply delightful! Cristi Cary Miller. This song from the Yiddish theater also found popularity in the folk movement of the 1960s after it was recorded by Joan Baez. In this charming arrangement for young and developing voices, an optional clarinet part adds to the ethnic flavor while the "Dona, dona" phrases encourage sing-along audience participation. Make the most of the dynamics and phrasing to help tell the story of the calf on the way to market. 10506580 Three-Part Mixed. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10506580E Three-Part Mixed ePrint. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10506643 Two-Part. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10506643E Two-Part ePrint . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10506647 Teaching P/A CD . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 26.99 Down by the Riverside arr. Lon Beery & Pamela Perec Lee. A solid piano accompaniment keeps the momentum going all the way through this gospel-swing treatment of the beloved African-American spiritual. Plenty of repetition makes it easy to learn, while the optional baritone part offers flexibility for developing male voices. Every middle school choir should have this ever- popular spiritual in its repertoire! 10086536 Three-Part Mixed. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10509957 TTB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 Drying Their Wings Greg Gilpin. Greg's stunning setting of the Vachel Lindsay poem features an expressive accompaniment that flows and weaves underneath the soaring melodic lines which seem to rise and fall, as if flying. This exquisite text allows for interpretation on many levels and sparks imaginative imagery. A wonderful teaching piece, it is also a superb choice for concert or festival. Emily Crocker. The opening musical number from the Disney animated feature "Frozen," this song is inspired by indigenous Saami and Norwegian culture, a combination of Saami yoiking and the Danish Christmas hymn Dejlig er jorden, or Fairest Lord Jesus, by B.S. Ingemann. Yoik is a very old vocal tradition among the Saami people of Scandinavia and Russia, characterized by short melodic phrases that repeat again and again, with small variations. With English, German and Norwegian versions of the text, synthesizer, percussion and optional male yoik. 10519311 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10519310 SAB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 10519158 Two-Part. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.10 3298108 SSAA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25
