(spoken dry, no music) In the midst of the Garden of Eden stood the Tree of
Life. Beautiful. Its branches spread across the garden, providing shade,
life-giving oxygen, delicious fruit.
[music begins to "Wondrous Cross (Underscore 1)"] The Tree of Life. God's
promise to the people He loves. And He pursued us. We like sheep went
astray again and again, but He pursued us. Relentlessly. When we sinned,
He offered a sacrifice. When we rebelled, He sent us a Savior. But we spit
in His face. And our God took that Tree of Life, made it into a cross,
(music segues to "Cross of Christ") and allowed us to crucify His Son. His
arms spread, as branches to cover the sin of the world.
