Goldman. Percy Grainger himself said of this piece, "...the music seemed to reflect both Handel and English musical comedy...as if jovial old Handel were careening down the Strand (London's "Broadway") to the strains of modern English popular music." What can one add to that? Try it and find out! 2040293 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 85.00 4918025 Full Score . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10.75 4918033 Condensed Score. . . . . . . . . . . 7.35 10005658 CD-Composer's Collection: Percy Aldridge Grainger . . . . . 25.95 n Head RushJay Bocook. Next to "Appalachian Spring," this is perhaps Copland's most recognizable composition. It is the final movement of his suite Four Dance Episodes from "Rodeo," which is drawn from his Ballet score of the same name. Wildly exuberant and charged with energy, this arrangement by Mark Rogers can fit into just about any program! 2361483 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 90.00 2383057 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 12.95 n How Deep the Father's Love for UsAnthony LaBounty. This timeless British hymn tune is melodious and alluring; equal to the text that is rich in poetic language, expressing the ultimate love of a father. This poignant setting for band purposely borrows vignettes of imagery recognized in "Appalachian Spring," among other orchestration elements. Extremely moving! 10458941 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . . 125.00 10458942 Additional Score . . . . . . . . . . 10.00 n Hymn to a Blue HourJohn Mackey. The blue hour refers to the moment of day between twilight and complete darkness, a time of day known for its romantic, spiritual, ethereal qualities. The colors of fading light are beautifully reflected in sound by various instrumental combinations and textures. Building to a brilliant climax, the brightest moment is reached before dissipating slowly into a warm, peaceful finish, as the light fades to darkness. A stunning work. 10189089 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . . 195.00 10189090 Additional Score 9x12. . . . . . 25.00 10294685 Additional Score 11x17. . . . . 45.00 l The Imperial MarchJohn Williams/arr. Stephen Bulla. One of the most recognized themes from the silver screen first appeared in the 1980 film "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back." This powerful arrangement for mature bands presents this dark and sinister march in its full splendor and will delight audiences everywhere. 10626018 Band Set & Score . . . . . . . . 195.00 10626019 Additional Score . . . . . . . . . . 25.00 H InchonRobert W. Smith. Honoring the "forgotten war," Robert W. Smith offers this significant work in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Korean conflict. It's beautifully scored to balance the delicate oriental melodies with the dramatic and frenzied passages that mirror the conflict. Colorfully orchestrated, with percussion simulating the sound of a helicopter landing and parts for piano and alto flute (with cues for C flute), it is a thoroughly stunning tonal collage. A significant, expansive work, one which experienced concert bands will proudly add to their repertoire. We give this our highest recommendation! 2700137 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 87.00 2700138 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 15.00 5974285 CD-The Music of Robert W. Advanced groups will welcome the challenges and reap the rewards inherent in the piece. Very contemporary in nature, The Inferno includes furious woodwind ostinatos, huge blocks of sound, tremendous percussion, and the imagery of Hell's inferno! Not for the faint of heart. 2322691 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 87.00 2322709 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . . 9.00 H Irish Tune from County Derry/Shepherd's Hey Percy Grainger/arr. This positively overflows with joy! An outstanding work for festival or concert programs, this is very worthy of your consideration. Elements of an "American" sound harkens to the music of Copland, yet is found here distinctly fresh and new. Taken from Curiale's orchestral work "Awakening," with the optional harp part included. Highly recommended! 2481896 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 90.00 2481994 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 12.50 [Jungst]aposedCraig Fitzpatrick. The title of this piece is derived from the word "juxtaposed," meaning "to place side by side, especially for comparison or contrast," and the name "Jungst," which is the name of the band director to whom it is dedicated. Rhythmically active, it maintains a high enegy level throughout, making it a multi-meter showcase for your band. 10453122 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 85.00 10453182 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 10.00 n La Procession du RocioJoaquin Turina/arr. Reed. Although a native of Spain, while studying in Paris early in his career, composer Joaquin Turina was influenced by the impressionistic harmonies of Debussy and Ravel. Once he returned to Spain, Turina also drew inspiration from Spanish folk music with La Procession du Rocio, which became one of his best- known works. The music portrays a festival and procession that takes place in the Triana neighborhood of Seville, and is filled with wonderful idiomatic Spanish elements. Alfred Reed's marvelous 1962 transcription remains an enduring keystone in the wind band repertoire. 4786109 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 85.00 5368949 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 10.00 n The Last CentaurRossano Galante. Sweeping woodwind lines and majestic brass fanfares capture the excitement of the drama and ultimate joyous resolution. Powerful and evocative writing! 10521068 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . . 95.00 10521071 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 15.00 n Liberty FanfareJohn Williams/arr. Bocook. One hundred years after the dedication of the Statue of Liberty in 1886, John Williams was commissioned to compose a fanfare for the re- dedication ceremony. This work migrates to many places, but never loses its bearings in pursuit of a musical true north. 10462709 Band Set & Score. . . . . . . . . 195.00 10462710 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 35.00 H Mannin VeenHaydn Wood.
