reverent treatment of the Italian melody The Fair
Maid of Sorrento and closes with the rousing,
exciting, and immensely popular Italian folksongs
Tarantella and Funiculi, Funicula.

l Lanigan's BallEd Kiefer. Music from Ireland
is very intriguing to audiences and musicians. It
fits so well with concert band instrumentation

exception. Starting with a solo clarinet playing a
lively jig, it blossoms into a dramatic presentation
of the folk song before relaxing into a section
of repose based on the song Binnorie. The
percussion is then highlighted in a build-up to
the rousing climax where the tunes are combined
for a dramatic conclusion.

Leroy Anderson. Originally this was the third
movement of the "Irish Suite" for orchestra and
was rescored for concert band by the composer.
