This thoughtful arrangement from "Carmen" captures both the opening theme and the toreador's aria. Mozart/arr. John Caponegro. This aria from Mozart's opera "The Marriage Of Figaro" is in the key of D Major and contacts some interesting modulations. Dackow. One of the most famous of all overtures, thanks in part to its use as a TV theme. While somewhat challenging, there are optional easy string and percussion parts included that make this a very useful edition. From the fabulous Trans-Siberian Orchestra show, "A Lost Christmas Eve," this piece will rock your holiday concert while your students practice their hooked bowings. Though greatly enhanced by adding a rhythm section and electric instruments, the piece can be played by strings alone. This is not your grandfather's Liszt music! 10348579 String Orchestra, Percussion Req. . . . . . . . . . 61.00 Classical Selections Medium H The Abduction from the Seraglio (Overture) W.A. Mozart/arr. Hoffman. From the comic opera filled with pirates, Turkish princes, kidnapping and daring rescues, Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio is the piece of music that generated the (possibly fictional) "too many notes" story. It is written in the Turkish "janissary" style, a style of music that fascinated Europe at the time. In this arrangement, the right hand of the piano is frequently written 8va to help re-create the piccolo that figured prominently in the original. 10185412 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 45.00 n AdagiettoGustav Mahler/arr. Keiser. The music of Gustav Mahler is some of the most emotional music in the symphonic repertoire. Much of the harp part has been successfully written into the cello part. Samuel Barber's best-known work has become an icon of contemporary orchestral literature. Jamin Hoffman's arrangement now makes this landmark work accessible to advancing groups with key, range and length adjustments, giving your students the opportunity to play one of the most important pieces of our time. This is a must-have for every string library! 2482042 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 45.00 l Aerial for String OrchestraG.F. Handel/arr. Jerry Weseley Harris. This movement, taken from Handel's famous "Violin Sonata No. 3," is fun to play and enjoyable for audiences to hear. Much attention must be paid to the dynamic contrasts requested. As with most music of the Baroque period, the style requires a strong pulse and a clear beat.
