Due to his ability to out-fox frequent traps laid by the Nazis, O'Flaherty was nicknamed the "Scarlet Pimpernel of the Vatican." You can assign each group's "knight" a color based upon school colors complete with banners. M 60.00 Urban Concerto Grosso—Brian Balmages. is inventive and stunning composition is a modernized version of the original concerto grosso dating back to the Baroque era. Written for soloists on electric instruments, it is also possible to do acoustically. An ideal way to feature guest soloists, faculty members or talented students, the music explores a wide range of styles, yet the orchestra parts are not difficult to put together. At times, the piece sounds like Stravinsky. At other times, with the use of distortion pedals, the audience will feel like they are at a heavy metal concert. Incredibly unique, and guaranteed to bring down the house! 10592175 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . MA 65.00 Waltzes from a Narrow House— Robert Moore/ed. J. Cameron Law. Inspired by the music of a ghost show on TV, the composer borrowed a fragment of the chord progression he heard and used it as the basis to create this composition. Techniques that give the work interest and vitality include inversion, retrograde, counterpoint, and harmonic pandiatonicism reminiscent of Stravinsky. A stunningly beautiful piece for the more advanced ensemble, the melodies are gorgeous and the harmonies are thick and lush. ere is nice interplay between all of the sections of the orchestra that serve as reflections in the water. e piece is contrasted by a nice, lilting up-tempo section in the middle before returning to the opening material to bookend the piece. 10592952 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Port Washington is a community on Long Island, New York that is filled with centuries of history. Situated on a waterfront, it receives intense weather.
