Deep Peace—David Barton. This lyrical piece
is based on a traditional Gaelic blessing and is very
versatile. It could be done as a solo, duet or even
with mixed voices. Only four measures of the piece
are written in harmony, divided either soprano/alto or
with the high voices taking the upper part and lower
voices taking the harmony. The simplistic beauty
and flowing accompaniment make this a meaningful
benediction or possibly a short anthem.

parts, and then expands to SATB. The optional eight

to this festive worship opener, proclaiming "Blessed
is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
