This inventive Paul Clark arrangement cleverly combines the familiar Christmas spiritual with Beethoven's Ode to Joy theme. Opening with a beautiful chorale in a light gospel style, it then breaks into a driving rock style at around 144 bpm. Further variety and interest is generated by modulations through the keys of B-flat, E-flat, and F to a big finish. There are no individual solos, but lots of sectional solis and solid ensemble sections.
