4e For Heaven and the Future—Samuel R. Hazo.
The title of this expansive work draws inspiration
from a poem by Robert Frost, and the thematic
material is a creative interpretation of the English
folk song Seventeen Come Sunday. Differing
from Vaughan William's treatment, this setting
remains at a slow tempo throughout, undergoing
a myriad of harmonic and textural variations. It's
beautifully and effectively paced with key impact
points occurring at just the right moments.

a massive work of art in which steel rods are
placed over a large expanse of desert, drawing
lightning strikes and creating powerful man-
made electrical storms. This work draws on

ripples throughout, enhanced by using thunder
sticks to create the sound of man-made thunder
surrounding the audience.
