SEVENTH LESSON (Luke 2:8-16) The shepherds go to Bethlehem. There were some shepherds in that part of the country, keeping watch through the night over their flocks, when suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone over them. They were terrified, but the angel said, "Do not be afraid; I have good news for you. There is great joy coming to all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. And this is your sign: the baby will be lying wrapped in little strips of cloth, in a manger." All at once there was with the angel a great host of heavenly angels, singing praises to God: "Glory to God in highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom God favors." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Come, we must go straight to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us." So they ran and found their way to Mary and Joseph. As was told them, the baby was lying in a manger. Thanks be to God. 52 For Preview Only
