I Believe in the Sun
Ich glaube an die Sonne
Thomas Juneau.
This poem was discovered in a dark cellar in Cologne, Germany where
thousands of Jews hid from persecution from the Nazis. "I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining... I believe in God, even when He is silent." This
plaintive setting is in both German and English, and may be performed in either
or a combination of both languages. Moving!

I Can See the River Jordan
Jay Althouse.
This original selection combines folk and gospel elements in a laid-back style
in the pattern of a traditional spiritual. A symbolic text leads to crossing the
metaphoric River Jordan as the music recalls songs from early America. The
piece opens with brief solos, builds to a hand clapping bridge, and concludes
only after full choral harmonies fade and voices unite on a single pitch.

Homeward Bound
arr. McKay Crockett.
After racking up over a million views on YouTube, this unique a cappella
stunner by Brigham Young University's Vocal Point and the All-American
Boys Chorus is now available for SATB divisi choirs. Contemporary a cappella
harmonies and layered choral textures support the soloists during the folk-
like verses and full choral refrains. The familiar Holst melody makes a few
appearances, and a three-part treble chorus (or descant group) is an ethereal
addition at the end. "Bind me not to the pasture; chain me not to the plow. Set
me free to find my calling and I'll return to you somehow." Inspirational!

This modern folk song is whimsical, lively, and fun to sing while providing plenty

parts for fiddle, string bass, banjo and tambourine, adds to the authentic feel.
Very nicely done!

How Can I Keep from Singing?
Robert Lowry/arr. Russell Robinson.
The well-loved song by Robert Lowry takes on a more reflective and emotional
style in this elegant, simple setting for mixed voices. Accessible choral parts

How Sweet the Sound
Philip Lawson.
A new refreshing setting of such a well-loved hymn, this Amazing Grace was
originally written for The King's Singers and a women's choir. It is mesmerizing
and also challenging. The setting lends itself to be performed in numerous
configurations - antiphonally, in the round, or concert formation.

Hushaby
Ellen Gilson Voth.
This arrangement presents the challenge of singing a familiar lullaby with a
freshness and a tender but well-supported tone. The contrasting middle section
is intended to be dreamlike, with cascading images of horses that are moving
quickly then gradually slowing their pace. The ending allows the choir to be
luxurious with time, and to enjoy the final hum fading into silence. A wonderful
artistic arrangement - highly recommended!
