With a nod to the wonderful Dave Maddux arrangement written for the vocal group "First Call," Bob Curnow has created a gorgeous version for big band. Every jazz group needs Christmas charts to perform, and this one is beautiful in its simplicity and overall effect. It begins quietly in a jazz chorale style and gradually builds to a dramatic climax followed by a sonorous ending. There are no solos.
