arrangement cleverly combines the familiar
Christmas spiritual with Beethoven's Ode to
Joy theme. Opening with a beautiful chorale in
a light gospel style, it then breaks into a driving
rock style at around 144 bpm. Further variety and
interest is generated by modulations through the
keys of B-flat, E-flat, and F to a big finish. There
are no individual solos, but lots of sectional solis
and solid ensemble sections. This accessible
and creative chart will be an awesome addition
to any holiday or winter concert!
