SCENE 6 CALEB:
MORRIS:
CUE COMPASS S.E. (S.E. TEAM) Morris! The compass is ringing! Look!
The needle is pointing right over there – to the narrow gate! I think this must be the way home!
TOUR GUIDE: Enters with sign that says THE WAY HOME. ARMOR: THEO:
(Enters, stretches out an arm in welcome.)
You have stepped into the Word, and these stories have spoken to you in a special way. I hope you'll share what you have learned with others.
MORRIS:
ARMOR: CALEB:
MORRIS:
I'd like to start with Caleb. (to ARMOR) Is it okay if I give the compass to him?
(nodding slowly) Certainly.
Morris, I can't take the compass. How will you find your way?
Caleb, you helped me learn that I have a Son-Powered Compass inside my heart. It always points to Jesus. And it always leads me home.
17 / 35 SONG: LAND OF THE LOST
A LITTLE DIRECTION: The opening of the song Land of the Lost is a wonderful solo opportunity. It could be sung by Theophilus if Theo is played by a student or youth. It could be sung by Caleb, or by one or more chorus members. Keep the choreography simple so that the singing is the focus here. Make sure your students understand the importance of sincerity and expression on these praise songs. It's their chance to directly share a faith message with the audience. You might practice "countenance" with them, having them demonstrate the face/body expressions that detract (yawning, grumpiness, slumping), and then the expression that communicates hope (wide eyes, focus, great singing posture).
