81 (Narration to begin the show.) NARRATOR 1: The people of God as you probably know Once inhabited Judah, long long ago. NARRATOR 2: The neighbor of Judah was great Babylon, A kingdom engaged in a land grab-a-thon. King Nebuchadnezzar, their leader, sent forth His soldiers to strike like a spear from the north. NARRATOR 1: The people of God had no place to run. NARRATOR 2: You could stick in a fork cause old Judah was done. NARRATOR 1: Their capital city Jerusalem fell NARRATOR 2: As their captors cried out with a victory yell! Fired Up! The Story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego Narration Version (Reassign Ashpenaz's line over measures 37-39 in A Sad Song to Narrator 1.) NARRATOR 1: Many Judeans and their leaders were taken prisoner and forced to live in Babylon. It was a difficult time for them, but they never forgot their homeland–and they never stopped praying to their God. (Replace the dialogue over measures 58-61 in A Sad Song with the following narration.) NARRATOR 2: Sadly, despite their prayers, nearly fifty years would pass before the people of Judah were set free from their exile and allowed to return home. (Narration after A Sad Song.) NARRATOR 1: Now call me naïve, but I think it's smarmy To get what you want with a conquering army. NARRATOR 2: When Judah was conquered by Nebuchadnezzar He looted the temple and took all the treasure.
