AND THERE WAS LIGHT - SATB
2
In the pale fading light of winter, our fragile faith reaches restlessly into
the shadows. We grope in darkness, seeking our lost candles of devotion.
The night is long and deep. Our prayers are shrouded in doubt and
disappointment. Our yearning hearts dream of a new day and the
coming of hope. When will our joy be restored?
In the sparkling stars, we see signs and wonders. In the reading of the
prophecies, we discover a shimmer of hope.
In the words of ancient
carols, we
sense the time is near. We search the eastern sky for
assurance.
Then suddenly, on the horizon, a glimmer! Golden grace spreads her
dazzling tapestry across the sky and we lift our eyes in expectation. The
day is breaking with new-born light. Jesus, the bright and Morning Star,
is here! Resplendent in majesty and clothed with the sun, He lifts us from
our dust and dar
kness and at last we claim the dawn. "LET THERE BE
LIGHT," the heavens shout!
AND THERE WAS LIGHT!
