5 Length: 20 minutes Main Plot: A 'show-within-a-show,' VeggieTales Characters and Children on stage are planning a Christmas show – an "incredible, gigantic, humongous" Christmas show. Discussion centers on what they will need to include in order for it to be a Christmas show. Suggestions come from kids on stage as they bring in funny objects to be included in the show. At the suggestion of a Christmas tree, Larry the Cucumber wants to decorate it with tinsel; alarmed that he cannot find his tinsel, we have a mild disaster and the show plans temporarily fall apart. This prompts the "Silly Songs with Larry" video segment: "Oh, Where Is My Tinsel?" At the end of that segment, and the kids having collected "secular" representations of Christmas to be included in the show, the focus then shifts to the real reason for Christmas – the birth of Jesus. Junior Asparagus reminds the children of the real meaning of Christmas, and the show ends with everyone singing the Good News brought by the angels – Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. Characters and Parts: • Main Characters on DVD: Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato, Archibald Asparagus and Junior Asparagus • On-stage Adult Character: The Narrator (as used in all VeggieTales shows). This person can be a "twenty-something" who grew up with VeggieTales, or another adult. He/she must have an animated speaking voice, preferably a strong singing voice for final number, and acting capability to keep the show entertaining and moving forward.
