FOREWORD
The
Alleluia Tree was written out of gratitude for the great work of salvation
accomplished on the cross of Calvary. In the writing process we found it impossible
to consider the truth of Christ's atonement on the cross without noticing that the
victory won there gives us great cause to rejoice. When Christ declared "It is
finished," the cross was changed forever from a symbol of sorrow and shame to a
symbol of Christ's triumph over sin and evil. ALLELUIA!
In the words of an old gospel hymn:
"Mercy there was great and grace was free,
pardon there was multiplied to me.
There my burdened soul found liberty–
– at Calvary."
And again we say, ALLELUIA!
So it is in grateful praise and joyful celebration that we sing of The Alleluia Tree.
